Re: Are UAI cutoffs for Year 12 leavers are different to cutoffs of Non-recent leaver
It depends - just like the UAI cut-off, the NRSL cut-offs go up and down according to demand and there is no given rule saying the cut-off will be higher or lower than the UAI one.
If Comm. were to stand for commerce then would not your reccomended abbreviation logically be a Bachelor of Arts in Commerce?
Anyways, when describing Communications I noticed most unis either shorten it to Comm or Commu depending on whether its part of Media and Communications (BA Med...
If you want to do law, the options (to my knowledge) are:
You get a sufficient UAI to do undergraduate law - which ranges from mid 70s at UNE to 99.6 or so at USYD. (This could be lowered through full fee places as well)
You get into university, but not law and proceed to transfer into law at...
I generally don't think it is a good idea to go text by text, especially in this module, as it wastes time repeating some things and to an extent makes it harder to compare the two texts. My preference was by dealing with themes e.g THEME 1; identify, define and then contrast specific points in...
I'd encourage any 06ers out there to share any trial questions they may have been given in the past months as this is an excellent chance to hone your skills before the HSC and perhaps gain some further insight into how the subject is examined.
The important thing is to know the conventions of your given genre intimately and to know your texts well and these are the same skills you employ in your essay question so it shouldn't be too difficult to pull off. The best practice for these type of questions is just to write short situations...
The general rule is that two texts are better than one - especially when it says 'at least one' however one text covered well is much better than two that are covered poorly. So if you feel like you have problems doing more than one (as you seem to have expressed above) then stick with your one.
Re: Are UAI cutoffs for Year 12 leavers are different to cutoffs of Non-recent leaver
To my knowledge the NRSL cut-off is different to the one for secondary school graduates, your ranking is also calculated slightly differently.
One significant point is also whether you want to be doing arts or business - despite the majors being similar the remainder of the degrees probably won't be at all alike. An example would be in UTS's BA Communications you would be doing subjects studying culture, political history, media...
It depends on if you want the USYD degree, if you do then go for it, but if you don't want what the USYD degree offers then the scholarship won't do anything for you.
And here are your definitions (they're very rough though):
Majors and Minors:
A Major is basically your specialisation that you...
Honestly it depends what you want out of your studies - if you want to focus on practical and rigorous study of journalism then a scholarship for a far more arts based degree won't do much for you.
If however you are genuinely interested in the arts (and perhaps the sciences and government...
Its actually quite possible to come up with a range of sources, but I gave you the most accessible so that you would actually read it. I also think its important to note that 'marriage' in the proper sense is now a legal convention as it has changed from being just a western/christian tradition...
I disagree. Marriage has not always been between a man and a woman, nor was it that way in roman times either. There have been many cases in history of cultures having a marriage between two men or two women. So if you wish to employ a historical argument, then you have no grounds. And here are...
From my year 10 to my year 12 I spent three years at TAFE - and whenever I had problems during my time there, I researched extensively for solutions. I think anyone who had a similar experience would have knowledge to share.
I know! It was such a shocker about the Runaways news, I would never have thought that BKV would leave his baby.
And the NXM Omnibus should be fairly good value - especially if you get it over Amazon. Its such a pity that Morrison left with his ideas incompleted though and now Whedon and Pak...
The majority of TAFE colleges commence their HSC program in the new year, with enrollments during February. There are, however, some TAFE colleges who follow the highschool schedule. For exact dates please see the campus at which you wish to study.
Bookie is correct. Your actual UAI never increases hence nothing is 'added' to your UAI. The Bonus Point version of the EAS scheme only lowers cut-offs at the specific uni by a given amount.
