Are there any websites where you can buy textbooks over the net?
I would like to see what the books look like.
(i got given a few books and I wanna know if they're used in aussie unis)
If i wanna do eco at UNSW or Usyd I'll have to get 90+
(hsc plus can only get me 3,4 pts max coz i do std)
But mq is still really good and i only gotta get low 80s for that...
that's no way to look at things..
so it's hard to get over 90.
And you've realized you're going to have to really lift your game to get it.
So how about instead of lowering the bar to meet your current performance, you raise your game to where the bar is set!

not all subjects reward memorisation all that well though..
I agree with your second point though, a lot of kids don't really have an outstanding ability in their subjects but are still able to do quite well due to the help of their tutors.
One of the things i can't wait for in uni is the clubs and societies i can join.
i'm thinking of: the bush walking club, chess club, soccer team
and...
just for the lulz, maybe the ping pong club.

If you look at the list provided by the smh or telegraph, you can see that the top schools consist of selective and private schools. Yes, there are private schools that are pathetic but all up...
I would love to study in canada.
But now the focus is on getting into uni.

because by 'better' perhaps the OP is taking into account more than just UAIs. If you compare schools qualitively you need to take into account factors such as communication and social skills.
Of course it depends on the efforts of the individual, but the quality of teaching and the school...
