In the HSC you'll get two questions in Extension 1. Most of the time one of these is a creative question. It can range from them asking you to write a piece from a stimulus or they could tell you to rewrite a scene from one of your texts. So IMO, you shouldn't walk in with a prepped story...

They do *not* specify that you must have a specific type of reading e.g psychoanalytical or nihilistic. At least not in the actual HSC, internal assessments are a whole other kettle of fish. You do need to use critical readings in your King Lear essays in the actual HSC, but which ones are...

I do the 4 on 4 combination and completely agree with everything KFunk says, I would add also that unless you are a superb time manager, your other "extra" subjects will take a bit of a beating as you will be so wrapped up in the heavyweights you will find yourself not paying them the neccesary...
