Fact is, less than 1% of the state get a band 6 for english, hence it is quite hard to get a band 6 compared to advanced (even ask your english teacher at school or your careers advisor) As for the 'capping' I suspect that is wrong

Well, senior science isn't popular (no offense) so I don't really know any textbooks which can benefit you

Yeah not enough units. But yeah, to compensate for chemistry, he'll need to get 100 for senior science, even though that's not enough (compared to 93 in bio or 92 in phys)
