Do what you think you'll enjoy. You'll get an opportunity to change subjects at the beginning of next year if needed.
I originally chose business studies instead of ancient history, and after a week I dropped business.
And if you like history, then go for it. Ancient history is really dull at...
I have 3 frees every two weeks, 80 minutes each.
We were allowed to go home for our frees if they were in the afternoon, but my school just changed the rules and now we have to stay at school because some people took lightly of some of the rules. Now my school has put in place like a billion...
If you don't like science, then don't choose it.
You are more likely to do well in subjects that you enjoy. The scaling system will reward you if you do well, but drag you down if you do badly.
I totally agree.
There's around 150 girls in my grade, and about 130 of those put their names down to be a prefect (not me though). And there's only 20 spots i think.
God, there's going to be 110 weeping year 11 girls when the prefect lists are posted up.
My school is rigged too.
For this year's head prefect, the teachers wanted the dux in the grade to be head prefect, even though she never put her name down, and she kept trying to tell them that she didn't want to be a prefect so her parents had to complain in writing and in person to the...
Best: To Kill A Mockingbird (Year 9) and The Age of Innocence (this year).
A Streetcar Named Desire comes in close after the above.
Worst: Blueback by Tim Winton (year 7)
why do you think that?
i'm not worried that i'm going to do really badly in general maths, because i've looked through the text books and its basically what i've been doing in year 9 & 10. and doing 12 units is not a problem since its a requirement at my school to do 12 units for the HSC...
I want to do a business degree when I leave school, and pretty much all of the courses have an assumed knowledge of mathematics..
The problem is that I'm doing so badly in 2 unit at the moment and I find it really hard to keep up with my class, as I always have to finish the work that we did in...
year 11 is great!
i love having the freedom of doing the subjects that i like and that i'm good at.
i'm kinda freaked out about the hsc (and annoyed because the hsc will be on my 18th birthday..grrrrr)
i'm currently considering:
mathematics/general mathematics (unsure yet)
english adv.
ancient history
geography
economics
extension history
possibly doing a fast-paced studies of religion course instead of bio since i'm currently self teaching bio because my teacher is terrible and can't...
Did you do the 5.3 advanced course in year 9 & 10?
The general course is pretty much what you learn in the 5.3 course plus a little bit more, so there won't be much of a problem there, but it is very different to what you learn in the advanced course.
I wish i could drop down to general but my...
Year 11: There's only one English Extension and its counted as 1 unit.
Year 12: There's English Extension 1 & 2, both counted as 1 unit each. English Extension 1 is a requisite for Extension 2. I'm not really sure of the content of the extension courses as i don't do them, sorry.
Hey everyone
As the title says, I do need an english tutor..
I'm currently in year 11 and doing english advanced, and I want to be able to get into good habits of essay writing and other english skills now, so that I don't need to worry about it so much next year.
I live in the north...
