    Does God exist?

He could have created the universe then killed himself? Magical pixie dust might do everything? Look up the anthropic principle?

    Does God exist?

Whatever you want to call it, if it is something which we can tell through analogy has been designed etc then it's fair enough for us to imagine it is. We can't do this with basic elements of life/plants. Some explanations are so bad that a better alternative is "we don't know". Also what...

    Does God exist?

This is already going to be stupid because we know how sculptures get formed, we know humans do that... we do not know that there's a creature that can start the universe. If you can't disprove an explanation in any way then I don't see how you could ever say there's a better explanation...

    Does God exist?

I find the topic to be a good medium for intellectually stimulating conversation ^__^ How? Consider how many people question the existance of other supernatural creatures (santa, elves, loch ness monster). Another issue is that people question different conceptions of what 'god' is so you...

All students may be required to study a second language.

I must admit what may be my overt bias as I hopelessly floundered my way through year 7-8 german class and came out with nothing but 'EIN SWEI DREI FEIR FUMPH SEX ZIEBEN AUCHT NOIN ZHEN ^____^' or something like that...

All students may be required to study a second language.

But couldn't that just be that it makes them feel special? Also, couldn't it be almost a self-fulfilling prophesy as in... if someone decided to continue doing something, chances are they found some sort of value in it. It just seems to me that the same thing occurs with university...

All students may be required to study a second language.

How so though? Particularly when we're talking about more than 1 language being introduced. Perhaps if everyone started watching chinese cinema, we started to recieve chinese tv stations and there were more chinese newspapers etc we could slowly see somewhat of a change... but I don't think we...

All students may be required to study a second language.

The truth is that not all students can do it, we had it at my school. It's a great model for the upper 50% of students.

All students may be required to study a second language.

Yea, personally I'm interested in examples of countries which have just say... decided to make french mandatory for all their citizens, even with almost 0 french trade/culture/population/etc influence.

All students may be required to study a second language.

But see if most australian's aren't even regularly having to interact with other cultures, it becomes little more than a novelty. I am sure there are associated benefits of learning another language merely for the languistic skills you pick up, but I can't imagine these being any greater than...

All students may be required to study a second language.

Of course people who've studied another language will be supportive of it. For one it feels silly to say you've wasted your time, for another it's a neat piece of knowledge that separates you from the herd etc. The interesting question IMO is how they feel their employer(s) have/will value their...

All students may be required to study a second language.

This was on 702 radio a while ago... in studies they did of people whom learnt a language as a part of their university degree, it was found that if anything employers found their language skills interesting, but nothing beyond that. That study resonates with what I imagine is probably the...

    Staying friends after a break-up

I've had it work, but we didn't share much in the way of common friends... probably just a handful who i was fine to never talk to again. ^_________^ If you still harbour feelings that you think you're gunna try to act on though, don't.

Single.. Who has never had a Girlfriend/boyfriend?

I've never had a boyfriend... I think it's just because I don't fit into the typical 'woman' social archetype of slutty obedient slave.
