    Cold War

Hey I totally hear what you are saying. I think the fact that it was developments REALLY limited what you could talk about. For a 30 mark question I think its so unfair to limit that drastically because I found myself rehashing and rehashing. Anyway, I hear you..

    Cool MH is over! :)

I was really pissed about the Cold War crisis question. It asked only for developments and that really limited what you could write, like talking about events or consequences wasn't relevant and that annoyed me alot.

    Source C.. what the?

I agree about the Speer question, felt like I was saying alot of stuff twice.

    Source C.. what the?

Who else thought Souce C (the photo) was really wierd? I rambled about women in the war and blah blah, but I still thought.. WHAT THE?!

    Predicted HSC questions

I think the cold war part will be: - disarmament - detente

    Standards package.

Hmm.. unfortunately I can't help you. My teacher photocopied them for us, so I didn't get them off the BOS website. I know what you mean about that website though, a navigational nightmare!

    Your Predictions

I read the nastiest question for Speeches. It was something along the lines of "You have been asked to train 2 people to say a speech, draw on your knowledge to teach them making references to two speeches." Something like that anyway... what a skank!!! As if the speeches module wasnt skanky...

    Standards package.

There are definately retreat from the global responses because I have seen them. Hmm..I hate the BOS site, very messy but I think thats the only place you will get them.

    Predicted HSC questions

I think that the Germany question, whatever it is (probably totalitarianism) will be alot more 'toned down' compared to last year after the big hoo ha over how much harder the questions were compared to the other national studies. I think the Cold war question will be whether it was purely an...

How tough is it to get 99.4?

HAHAHAHAHAHA.... *UTS cloud drifting further away*

    Remembering ALL text?

Hmm... I talked to people at the advice line. They said that BOS can specify from your texts (like a Skryznecki poem for example) but the 'Changing' booklet actually states "atleast one text of your own choosing' so she said they can't specify from there, because you choose it, but she said...

    Totalitarianism

I think the best way to tackle this question is to show both sides. That way you can demonstrate more knowledge and also have alot more content.

    Yes

Hmmm.. see thats where I struggle. What kind of literary theory? Derrida and Focault? I don't see how it is relevant.. and how can you fit it in amidst a close analysis of 5 texts plus and intro and conclusion???

    Study...

I wish I started thinking about things like that when I started Year 12. In any case, I find the easiest way to study maths is writing down all the formulas you need to know and learning them either by reciting them or writing them lots of times. If you have trouble learning certain formulas...

    E-frikin-fectiveness

I think you can interpret continuity and change in a few ways. You can look at it as the law's ability to change and reflect societal values.. eg in family the greater recognition of same sex relationships and stuff, but you can also consider law reform.. what areas are ineffective and need to...

    Albert Speer??

I'm doing Speer. I WISH I knew his life well. We did the early years in detail and we ran out of time so the war years are a total blur for me. I can't stand Speer... apart from the whole homo-erotic infatuation with Hitler. That always gets a laugh from me.

The 40 minute essay conspiracy theory

I am in total agreement. I think it is close to impossible, if not impossible to demonstrate an indepth understanding of a module, covering all aspects of the syllabus whilst still showing a good style and a decent intro and conclusion in a pissweak 40 minutes. If they want us to yabber about so...

    E-frikin-fectiveness

All year all our teacher has done is tell us "You need to know effectiveness, it's very important!" yet we have hardly touched on it. We have just been told to know it well. In any case, I think that continuity and change fit into effectivess, you can talk about how legislation is constantly...
