It should work - start up the computer with the CD in (first check that the BIOS is set to boot off CD), then you should just follow the prompts.

I don't think you can change the envelope icon - it says down the bottom what the different icons mean. An envelope with a hole in the middle means that you have posted in the thread. To add a pic under your username, click on user cp up the top, then go edit options, and scroll to the bottom...
