Could I get an ATAR of 90 or above

The best students should be the ones who receive more scaling. If you do very well in a subject where everyone does well, you should benefit from that. If you do poorly in a subject where everyone does poorly, you shouldn't receive any benefits - your marks need to reflect your position in the...

Could I get an ATAR of 90 or above

It's not because they are easier. It's because the worst students in the state do those subjects. The less 'worst students' who do the subject, the better it scales.

Great school, bad internal ranks vs Bad school, great internal ranks.

Well the benefit or advantage of being 1st in any school regardless of rank is that your HSC mark can be solely dependent on your own performance. The highest exam mark of any student will be given to you for your assessment mark, and your HSC exam mark is your own performance. The benefit of...

    Question about HSC mark calculation?

Not your individual HSC exam mark, no. But collectively as a cohort, yes. Everyone's exam mark contributes to a pool of marks that will be redistributed back for your assessment marks. So the higher your exam mark is, and the higher others' are, the higher your assessment mark will be.

    Will scaling screw me up?

The only thing that will screw you up is if you do poorly in your subjects. There are no weak subjects, only weak students.

    Questions regarding change of degree

No. Only courses that count towards the degree that you are enrolled in will count towards your WAM. The redundant courses will still show and there will be a WAM listed on your online transcript at the time you switched degrees. But note, your final official transcript doesn't have your WAM...

    Ranks

The difference can be mitigated by getting as many school marks as possible. If 1st in on 85% and 2nd is on 84%, that is a better scenario than if 1st is on 85% and 2nd is on 75%. In the first scenario, your assessment marks will be adjusted to reflect that small difference. In the second...

    swimming at night

Well again, how would we know? If the pool has a pump, there would be noise restrictions on it. The owner might not want people swimming at night for safety or maintenance reasons which they might be liable for - again, this depends on the type of living arrangement. A serviced apartment...
