Why of course! I normally don't neg rep, but her irrational jibe at you was the impetus. Call it my sense of protectiveness over mates. *you're schpecial!* :shy:

oh any random post. Ironically, it was one where I was giving advice on how to most effectively read. She just wanted to make the point that "I'm entitled to my opinion thanks" :P

Has anyone ever bought a book online before?

Huge fan of Amazon here - in fact, if you have an american friend, then sign up for Amazon Prime, free shipping and ships in 2 days to a US address, then get the friend to forward the box along to you. Saves about a hundred dollars in shipping fees (I buy alot).

Arts 2, PESS 1. I see...hmm, depends what field of law u want to go into i suppose. Good thing is that its all very flexible and you can change the combination fairly easily. G'luck!

What units are you considering? Did you consider Global/Intl studies or PESS? I think you had interests in Government and political science related stuff. Arts is super flexible though. Another thing is that out of all the things we can do, since we're freshman, there's only 1/2 courses per...

    Starting to freak out..

Yeah...soz mate. The only thing I can think of there is to choose related texts that you like, and pray that the electives and set texts your teachers choose are enjoyable? I'm sure you did fine anyway. :sun:

You will be, you will be! I'm starting uni here and awaiting admissions results on April 1. School doesn't start overseas until mid-late August, so I'll have at least a few months in Aus. How could I pass up the chance to use the awesome law building?! :) OOOH and Law Camp better be on. :D

    Starting to freak out..

Didn't go to Ruse (turned it down for a private school) :P I don't think I nerd-ed it out too much (still went out, procrastinated, chillaxed). But I did do subjects I loved (and guess I was good at) so it didn't feel like much work at all, and was fairly easy to study for. G'luck '10ers. :)

I've been hearing of (and know a few) aussies who have Oxford offers - how exciting! Though does your friend know that in the US, medicine isn't an undergrad degree? She'll be doing a liberal arts degree (presumably B.S - bachelor of science) and I guess she might take a pre-med track, or major...

Hi Anna - from an IB friend who's applying this year? ;) No, its not true - well, its a mere correction on semantics. Colleges regard predicted marks with AS MUCH credence as the actual marks. The same - not more, but not less. Just as Sydney Uni shortlists Merit Scholarships based on...

    Discussion: How do/did you study?

Try this method for reading, its threefold: 1st time: Skimming for general ideas and overview- just getting an idea of the main points and the paramaters of the info. (Doesn't matter if you don't "get" it at this point, simply note what jumps out at you). * Then do a mini sketch of what main...
