Is it ok to still keep custumising your timetable?

I recently changed a time for one of my tutorials and am a bit worried that because I left it so late they won't have me on their rolls and I may be marked as absent by my old tutorial class. Could this happen? Is it a bad thing that I changed it do late?

Ukraine, Euromaidan and Russia... Shit just got real...

Obviously there are going to be men of the nature that I have described in EVERY country. However, in Russia its endemic because its embedded in our culture. Here, most decent people drink beer or other such light drinks when they're out on a barbecue (notice the guy in the picture is probably...

Ukraine, Euromaidan and Russia... Shit just got real...

I have lived in Russia for over half of my life. It is VERY different to Australia, and inferior to it in many respects. Russia is stuck somewhere between Third world and First world (Second world then?) and if I had the choice of where I wanted to live, I'd pick Australia any day. Don't get me...

    How safe is Redfern?

Yeah I know, its such a lovely little jewel isn't it? My mates and I have strolled there every day to and from Usyd. The park down there is releaxing and gorgeous! Truly a hidden treasure. Naah but maybe you should have said that you were just joking in your post? Someone may have taken you...

Is an ATAR of 80+ considered good?

Yeah that's BoS. We all know that it is not an accurate representation of the mark distribution across the whole state...much less is the general opinion on here indicative of the attitudes that the people across the state have. I've come across people who are thrilled with an ATAR in the 60's...

    99 ATAR possible in a low-ranked school?

^This. Your chances are slimmer than someone from private/selective school, but with enough hard work and dedication it CAN be done. My school's dux got like 96.4, which is an great result, but it shows that its not easy to get those 99's at a low ranked school. Only 2 people in my year got in...

    How safe is Redfern?

Thanks so much :) Soo glad its right next to the uni! Yeah, I've had those thoughts too...I know guards are supposed to be on the train, but they're not always there :/ What about travelling in the first carriage, right outside of the driver's compartment? Sadly not, because if it was I'd...

    How safe is Redfern?

Interesting...I haven't thought of catching the bus to central and going on the train from there. It surely beats catching the bus all the way home, because it would only take my about 3/4 of the way before I'll be forced to change over. Would either of you be able to tell me where I can catch a...

    How safe is Redfern?

That's good to hear! What about the train station itself? Not that bad either?

    How safe is Redfern?

There are some nights when I may have to make my way home at around 9:30 pm, since I live about 50 mins away from the uni I fear that it may be an issue. Normally, I catch the train there and back...but there is no way I am doing that at almost 10 at night, especially since the station is right...

can anyone explain to me why ANU has such a low cut - off ATAR?

Yes, basically what everyone else said...going there means most people will need to move away to Canberra. Granted, the ATARs are really not all that low. There are unis in Sydney and other populous cities that have much lower cut offs. So I think it's fair to assume that if the location was...

Does WHERE you get your degree from really matter?

So in short... What just getting a University degree (regardless of place) guarantees: The Middle Ages: You were more respected and more likely to be promoted than the other monks in your monestary. 1600-1960: You got a higher paying job because you were more educated than the majority of the...

Does WHERE you get your degree from really matter?

I've seen this debate a lot in light of the commencement of University and am really curious about what you guys on BoS think. Since more people are entering university than ever before (at least in the history of the Western culture anyway), do graduates from a Go8 have an better chance of...

Is an ATAR of 80+ considered good?

Like everyone else said, as long as it gets you into your course it is good. I got an ATAR in the high 80's and burst into tears (sad tears) even though it was enough to get me into any of the courses I wanted AND I got 5 bonus points. To this day I am ashamed...not of my ATAR, but of the...

do you get to choose your own timetable?

Yeah, but as the semester progresses, attendence does tend to fall. I've heard somewhere that in a lecture in which 200 people are enrolled, the average attendence during the middle of semester is 30-60 people. Of course it comes up again during the end of semester :P

Working out uni timetable for physio (or any course)

Wait...I thought timetables will just be released on the 17th with whatever times they have chosen for you. The title says this is applicable to any course, so does that mean that we must pick (or think about picking) what times we want? If so, on what website can this be done?

Taking notes in Lectures: Laptops vs Paper. Discuss.

I was considering using a laptop (or some sort of voice recording device) to record my lectures. Would this be a practical idea?
