i had trouble deciding which question to do... i fucked off half the syllabus for this topic, and just studied the following backwards; a. the delian league b. the persian wars, themistocles, miltiades and aritsides. so i was pretty much set :) i knew i could ace both, but i figured...

i found it relatively easy had i relied on what we did in class, i'd have been screwed but i studied the whole of the spartan society syllabus at home several times over the last month...

^^ what do trial papers have to do with it? the hsc is set in april. trials are usually set afterwards, so they have no swing whatsoever on the hsc questions set.

the personalities were more difficult than the last 2 years i felt.... luckily i prepared for mine extensively :) its over, and thank fuck for that. i dont think ill ever study ancient history ever again.

the personalities questions were not particularly friendly... i think they were harder than the last 2 years. none the less, a great exam, i think i went well.

my picks; weather map cross section v/e gradient aspect find somewhere for x development/enterprise to take place & have a nice geographical wank about it

i use it in every essay i do... mention a historians bias after a quote, whatever... but like i said - i will not be losing any sleep over it. it's not really a big issue unless you do 3 unit.

spartan society; find out about lycurgus and the great rhetra find out about the agoge find out about festivals - gymnopaediae, hyakintheia, carneia... the role/contribution of women pottery/food/poetry/religion - worth knowing too.

i'm prepared for 3/4 of the sections... 1 - romes wars of expansion - i am prepared for only a few areas...

i've got callouses on various places across my fingers, have had them for nearly two months since i became a hermit, writing approx 50 pages a day. the muscles, bones, skin, etc are just used to it. no pain for me :)

top question :) discussed 3 productions. 2 extensively.

i churned out 8 pages, and it was all relevant to context shaping meaning, developing understanding of what's 'in the wild'... but i feel like i structured it badly. anyway - i feel that the question was very straight forward, and i was suprised to see that it was not creative.

i got 17/20 for my trial on 0 study, just paying attention in class :D have worked hours at it this time... hoping for closer to 20/20 ;\

anyone else think this will be creative this year? i do. i reakon an interview is highly likely. maybe a personal reflection? thoughts?

im uber scared it'll be about nature in different productions. something about adaptations to suit different contexts or techniques used to reflect different ideas and themes would be nice... it was creative last year, so it shouldnt be this year...
