You guys think it's hard giving tea breaks for 4 hours? We HAVE to give staff members a tea break for 2 fucking hours!!!

Your log on number has nothing to do with the level of access you have in ISIS. The level you have can be changed by anyone with 'Manager' as their authority level, which will be your senior management - SM, SSM, STM, DM's etc etc. Most people will just be put in the department manager group.

I'll have to agree with CSM's being the most under appreciated, and probably the hardest worked too. I'd like to see any Store Manager be a CSM for a month - they'd probably give in within the first day. (I know mine would)

As a CSM though she should kind of expect it. Our CSM does 5 10-12 hour days a week AND we are a small store. I think Checkouts would be the worst department in the store to manage. She must have pulled at least a 14 hour day on Thursday before Good Friday. She was there at 6 and still there at...

Boy is my store manager going to love me. Our competition supermarket is building a complete new one, which will be bigger than our store but no body knows more than that. But it pays when you have a parent who is doing a tender for their communications, and it's also handy when you see the...

It's weird that both Australia and New Zealand are whacking huge excise taxes on Ciggies - at the same time. Ours have gone up by 10%, and will go up a further 10% next year and a final 10% in 2012. Tobacco has gone up an extra 24%. I hate it how people try and push their opinions of smoking...

Ugh my SM has volunteered me to do a full equipment stocktake for Chep on Sunday. Not looking forward to counting every pallet, every bin and every fucking crate in the store. He can go and fuck a duck!

Of course. There was a point when I was doing Produce, Grocery and Checkouts, so it's definitely possible. Now whether your 'home department' manager is cool with it, is a different thing. But definitely bring it up with him/her, and also talk with the checkout manager.

If you're still at school it's not like you would be working full time. Why can you not work a few hours plus study? Plenty of others manage it.

Policies may differ because we are in different countries, but here you are covered for anything if you are within the perimeter of our property, whether it is deliberate or accidental. Also if you cause yourself a LTI (Lost time injury) then the company pays all medical costs, and you get paid...

Not even office cashiers? Unless SSO or SSA is one of them. (All of these fancy names and abbreviations you Ozzies have) A big management restructure is taking place here atm... After a year and a half since our last one left, we are getting a new STM. (Dry Goods Manager it's called over here)...

Yeah I guess it is different for bigger stores. Like us, as soon as the DM leaves at 22.15/30 ish, there is no one in store until 3am when our baker starts. Just found out that Greg Foran was in the country opening one of our new stores. The SM of the new store must have felt a bit intimidated...
