    Grade appeal

Contact the convenor first - they are the first person who can possibly have an influence on your mark and will be involved anyway if you appeal. Scaled final marks are very different to raw marks - if your mark has gone backwards it just means that there were several people who got even better...

MACQUARIE merit scholars program OR UTS international exchange programs?

You should go to UTS and join the UTS BUiLD program: http://www.ssu.uts.edu.au/beyonduts/index.html This is the perfect for what you want to do. If you really want to become a diplomat then the UTS International Studies degree, along with the BUiLD program, would set you up pretty well....

    Is it a good uni?

I won't get into the debate going on. I studied at Macquarie (BSc and a BA) and had a good experience. Classes were good, services were good, people were good. If rankings matter to you then it's a solid upper-middle tier uni - I've never been overlooked for anything because I didn't go to a...

B International and Global Studies/B International Studies Comparison.. USyd and UNSW

Re: B International and Global Studies/B International Studies Comparison.. USyd and Take the 4 years inc. overseas study. It's an awesome experience (personally as well as for your resume) and, no matter what they tell you, since it's built in it's going to be a lot easier to arrange credit...

What do you need to bring to uni?

So many stupid responses possible to this question - bravo to all the takers. Think about getting a locker - even a small one is super convenient for dumping textbooks, notes, bag, lunch during the day. For lectures: a notebook and pen/s, possibly a laptop (if you've got one). Start of uni is...

    Macquarie Outbound Study Abroad Program

No way you'll find out before the New Year. Uni is closed from tomorrow and it takes plenty of time for them to process acceptances at MQ. A response from the US uni will take much much longer. PG to the USA....good luck. Did an exchange there in Tennessee (which was awesome) but transferring...

Finding funding to study in Germany AND/OR Netherlands - help!?

Well done on getting accepted - summer schools overseas are great. The cost looks reasonable to me and is certainly a worthwhile investment. You might be eligible for OS-HELP: http://www.goingtouni.gov.au/Main/Quickfind/StudyOverseas/OSHELP.htm What university do you go to? Sometime...

    exchange

Ja, I did an exchange - best thing I ever did. I also had a friend doing psych who did heaps of research before going on exchange and remember spending hours going through unis.

    exchange

Most of the major US and Canadian partners will offer good psych programs that should transfer ok. UK unis might be problematic because many still operate on trimesters. For an alternative option, a Scandinavian unis would be a good option - Bergen in Norway, Uni of Copenhagen in Denmark and...

Low grade average... what more can I do?

That's really sad news and I think anyone would think the same Reading it.it's nothing to be ashamed of and it's a completely legitimate reason to raise for your marks. It will certainly be considered if you are willing to talk about it. Good luck because that's a tough thing to go through and...

Macq Uni Students in YouTube Clip? LOL

Oh dear Microsoft - you are so fucking lame. Everyone can see through this appallingly hopeless attempt at viral marketing. They've tried this before: http://community.boredofstudies.org/586/general-university-discussion/242980/proof-unsw-all-others.html This is just so pathetic. Microsoft...

    American Influences on Australia

Don't, like, 20-30% of families in Sydney speak a language other than English at home? (Stat is prob wrong, but % is huge). I would contend Australia is influenced by lots of cultures...the USA particularly being a major one for white, Anglo-Saxon, bogan rednecks. We're isolated down here...

    Is University overrated these days?

Job job job. Yeah yeah, that's important. But you work to live not live to work. I did a degree that I didn't end up using, but does that mean it wasn't worth it? Hardly. Uni is a great time in life - you meet loads of people, party and, shit, even learn some interesting stuff that expands...

    Wtf at library today

What a funny thread. MQ Library = avoid at all costs Can't wait for the new one.

    Summer Course

You could also do a short course overseas instead of at MQ - check out the International Office website, they've got quite a few courses around the world, there's definitely one in Denmark at Aarhus School of Business which is good.

Exchange to US - Under 21

I was there a few years ago and getting fake IDs wasn't too hard. Otherwise, as noted, there are house parties everywhere. If the cops come, just jump the back fence!

    Old library building?

It's good that there will be extra space, it's always at a premium at the uni. Fingers crossed it gets dedicated to student activities (study, services etc) rather than more classrooms or offices.
