I'm doing the Crusades too. My historians are; Fulcher of Chartes, Edward Gibbon, Dana Carleton Monro, Steven Runciman(/Terry Jones), Jonathon Riley-Smith, Louis Bréhiér, Saunders and Atiya. Obviously I'm not going to write about all of them though. As for websites - Try this one...

    Plugging in Trial Marks

My trial marks come out at 93.85. I can only dream of getting that in the HSC though =( The 95+ UAI in my sig is a joke btw - I never actually expect to get that.

    frontline essay..how many episodes?

I type my exams, so I can definitely tell you that 2000 words is 3 typed pages - Arial 12, extended borders in Word. So 1,500 should be about 2 pages and a bit typed. It doesn't look like much. 1500 words gives you 350/400 words per text + 200 or so for the intro + 150 for a conclusion I think)...

    Farewell Eng Ext 2 2006

Yeah you seem very determined to get that 50. A good mark is virtually impossible for me - I changed my concept 4/5 times and ended up deciding on a completely different one four days before it was due so I ended up writing the entire thing + journal (I just wrote journey lol) and reflection...

    Major assesment results

My project was incredibly dodgy - I did it the night before like all my other major works this year - you'd think I'd learn. I got 18/20 for the essy 5/5 for the synopsis 5/5 for the source evaluation 5/5 for the bibliography 5/5 for the process log 9/10 for the proposal I don't know how they...

    Farewell Eng Ext 2 2006

Uh I think 666_blessing meant that they'd want to keep the number of people getting 5 as opposed to 50 to the bare minimum.

    Creative writing

For creative writing I have five written out already (obviously I might not use any of them). I base my ideas of things I already know in detail - for me it's modern history, so mine are historical based creative works; ie WW1, Russia, Vietnam, Cuba (phys journeys btw). If you have a subject...

Are there any decent textbooks for this subject?

As Priesty said - yeah, posting them would be really helpful (tell us if you post them too) As for the original question I have the Heinemann, Cambridge and Excel books - for the love of god - do not even consider getting the Cambridge one. It's worse than the Heinemann one. Excel is definitely...

    Creative writing in Trials

As well as a diary entry texts like feature articles for a magazine about journeys, or a speech to a group of people about your journey etc. (Mine was writing a diary for my trials). As for the HSC try and have a few different journey texts written out based on something you know. Ie have a...

    HELP PLEASE! -urban dynamics

Er I haven't even looked at my urban notes - but I think that's the areas that are generally disadvantaged in terms like wealth as opposed to areas that are generally advantaged, like the richer areas - eg the north shore - suburbs like Mosmon are considered wealthy and more 'advantaged', while...

    All Over

Oh God. I didn't realise they would all be marked by now. I want to know my mark - but only to know how badly I did because mine truly was terrible. I may have been incredibly stupid about it - nearly dropped the subject three times, changed my concept 4/5 times and only figured out my final...

    Cuba Case Study

I don't do society and culture, but I did do my ext. hist. project on Cuba as well as my ext. 2 eng major work, so I'd like to think I knew something about the place - what does the S+C case study on Cuba involve? While obviously I could never help you as well as a S+C student could, I might...

Help - Use of other languages in the story

I'm definitely using Spanish throughout it now because I agree - it does make it more fluid with the Spanish names and setting of the story. The story is valid because of its historical context in Cuba, so it's working nicely. Thank goodness I don't have to rely on those dodgy internet...

Help - Use of other languages in the story

The Spanish bits are mainly just fragments in speech ie; “Vaya! Ataque ahora!” which basically translates to 'go! attack now!', but I need to get my spanish speaking friend to check that. The character is a Cuban so throughout there are just little words here and there in his speech and others...

Help - Use of other languages in the story

So my short story is set in Cuba right and I have fragments of text in Spanish. At the moment I have footnotes at the end of each page with the English translation. Am I allowed to do this/should I do this? Or should I just rewrite the tiny phrases in English? Thanks in advance if anyone can...

How much does your journal weigh?

I have a box of EE2 research and other concepts etc that aren't in my journal and that weighs 1.9kg and my actual journal is 1.6 = 3.5kg between the two. I have something like 3 months of entries to print out + things like my report and copies of it (I haven't actually finished, I am so beyond...

What case studies are you doing?

Crusades. And it isn't exactly a hard topic but I have no clue how to write my notes for it and the information is just everywhere because our teacher just throws sheets and questions at us. It's 11:10 now and I've got my trial tomorrow and I've only done the 'What is history' section of notes...
