Should you handwrite or type notes for year 12 or both?

Typed. By typing you save on time that could be better spent on past paper questions. Besides, writing an answer to a past paper question solidifies the content in your mind just as much OR EVEN MORE than if you physically wrote your study notes.

    Past HSC Exams Outdated?

The 2020/21 math extension 1 and 2 exams are the only ones completely abiding by the new syllabus. Are all past HSC exams before them even worth doing then?

    ive lost motivation

The best thing to do is figure out what exactly you're avoiding. Doing a math topic? Reading an english text? Whatever it is narrow it down. Then take the biggest step you're willing to take at the moment. It could even be something as small as simply opening your math textbook or reading an...

    Thoughts on ATAR Release date?

ATARs are getting released on the 20th of January. Actual HSC results are being released four days later. Isn't it a bit weird to do it this way?

Cambridge vs Fitzpatrick: A Final Vote

Don't do every question. Choose the questions that suit your weaknesses. A lot of the questions are just copies of the question before it. Do a few different types and reflect whether you're understanding is strong enough. If it is, move onto the next exercise. If it's not, do some more questions.

Does business studies actually teach useful knowledge.

Personally I say knowing the content does help in the real world, especially if you plan on going into the area of economics and business. I wouldn't suggest doing business just for this understanding because I think the same level of understanding can be obtained through a couple google searches.

    Form in every essay?

Would you get lower marks if the question didn't ask for form and you didn't include it? Or should form explicitly be in every essay regardless of whether it is requested or not?

    Economics vs Business studies

Economics is more interesting but requires a commitment to do research outside content (ie. stats) and keep up to date with the current economy. Business is easier but the actual test questions feel very unstimulating and repetitive Choose economics if you have an interest in it otherwise it's...

Can Externals be Replaced with Trials?

I'm at a school where trials no longer go to my internals. The exams themselves haven't really been that official. Still, if externals get cancelled do you guys think trials going replace them in any way?

    study plan

I'm planning to I like your determination! I'm planning on spending 60% of my study time on my worst subject (English :( ) . Getting one more mark in your worst subject has a bigger effect on your ATAR than the same increase in your best. But I still try to designate time during the day...

MY GUIDE TO GET A 96 IN BUSINESS STUDIES

Well I wouldn't specifically use performance objectives as the criteria. However, I don't see anything wrong in using them to link to competitive advantage. For example: Leading-edge tech --> higher quality product --> allows for product differentiation through higher quality --> competitive...

MY GUIDE TO GET A 96 IN BUSINESS STUDIES

Well the short answer is both yes and no. While I didn't specifically use flashcards I used a strategy that performed a similar function (using active recall). Personally, I think making flashcards ON TOP of making your theory notes is an incredibly inefficient and wasteful use of your time...

Back by popular demand 😁 (shout out to DrDawn) welcome again to my guide to get a 96 in Business Studies! 2.2 Short Answer Questions Short answers are probably one of the most unpredictable parts of the Business Studies paper. In terms of time limits, I recommend spending a maximum of 50...

The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky I haven't even finished it yet but Dostoevsky is easily one of the best and most entertaining writers out there.

    Are notes necessary?

I agree with jimmysmith560. One thing I'd like to emphasise. Notes aren't THAT important at this point. Don't spend too long on them. Just download someone else's, have a good understanding and then just do past papers.

    New Syllabus = Memorising Imaginatives?

Thank you deadofwrite and B1andB2 for your quick responses. I'm honestly surprised this is what it takes to do well in Mod C. Does NESA really expect us to come up with band 6 responses off the cuff?

    New Syllabus = Memorising Imaginatives?

Is the only way for students to get high marks in an imaginative through memorisation? If so what do students memorise that allows them to adapt it to the question? Thanks in advance fellow BoSers!

The hardest task I have ever faced in my HSC

Yeah Im just as confused as you! Although I think this is because of teacher preferences. At my school the teachers would just assess is with a math exam like the hsc. But I guess theres a lot of leniency in how u assess students :/
