    Passages...

Existentialism really pisses me off but I dont mind it in Kafka since he was one of the founding fathers of it so hes not just some brainless "intellectual" who just pretends to be depressed so they can be literarily trendy.

    Does anyone here play Morrowind?

The Xbox isnt really marketed at kids though. I think its target audience is teenage and above.

    Oprah Winfrey is the anti-Christ

She makes so much money because she produces her own show so she doesnt have to split the profits.

Most violent death sequence in a movie ...

You do know that Roman Polanski will be put in jail if he ever goes to the US because he had sex with a teenage girl.

Most violent death sequence in a movie ...

Im just remembering that Braveheart and Gladiator had some pretty violent deaths. Oh yeah, Hannibal had some goldies too. The movie sucked alot of ass compared to the book though. I personally thought the Pianist was pretty over-rated. It didnt do anything for me at all. If you want a good...

    Why is HP so famous?

UAI has nothing to do with taste or even intelligence.

I like alot of Kafka's work even though it is really existentialist.

Most violent death sequence in a movie ...

Now, I dont watch many horror movies so Ive probably missed out on heaps of potential candidates here, but Id say the most violent death would have to be Murphy's death in the Robocop: Directors Cut. Did anyone see Live and Let Die? Canagra's exploding death had alot of potential but the use...

    is music getting worse?

Nein, they were a great band, but dont mess with history dude. Except for Bob Dylan, past it rockers should not make new stuff.

    GREAT EXPECTATIONS - Charles Dickens

I dont mind Charles Dickens. Im probably the only person here who likes Tale of Two Cities because I didnt do Extension and didnt HAVE to read it. I swear studying books in school makes you hate them.

lord of the rings-return of the kings

Im eager to see how much of the book they managed to capture in the movie because the movie clocks in at a similar length to the other two, but the book was sooo much more complex than the other two and so much more happened.

    Fantasy?

WoT is pretty good, but the series really slows down. I planned to read it through a second time, but I couldnt bring myself to get past the 5th book.

    Fantasy?

Robin Hobb's a damn good author and her books are great, but her latest series (the Tawny Man) is really emotionally indulgent to the point of losing the reader, especially the last book. I think that fantasy now-days is all pretty generic and alot fantasy books work very much off a formula...

    Favourite Character?

Nigel Tufnel from This is Spinal Tap (yea I know its a movie). From a book, id have to say ... there is a Mark Twain short story, I cant think of the name of it or the characters name, but it basically revolved around a guy who would go around paying the shit out of everything with his really...

    oo! 'The Bone People'

If you are talking about the Keri Hulme book then you are bang on. I thought the book should have ended before Joe started met that Hermit and the carvings and whatever, but otherwise it was a fantastic read. I read it on the advice of a family friend. I just assumed the plot would lighten up a...

    Your favourite book!

I really liked House of the Dead and the Brothers Karazmov by Dostoyevsky. But my all time fav would be Catcher in the Rye, no matter how many times I read it, it doesnt get old. I dont know if you would call it a book, more like a 300 page poem, but Paradise Lost by John Milton was great...
