    Study books

for 2Unit and extension past papers are the key as they hsc styled questions are pretty different from any questions you get in the textbook - so maybe success one (i found that one pretty good) :)

    DOt point Biology?

Both are useful. Dotpoint is good for re-inforcing class work as it focuses on each individual syllabus dotpoint (from both columns) and success one is good for practicing how questions may be asked in an exam. Last year I just used both, i had 2-3 exams that I split up into seperate topics...

mioumiou has it right A Glossary of Key Words (HSC) - Board of Studies NSW live them, learn them, try to love them :) they can really make a difference in the amount of marks you get in a question by making sure you're answering the right question. You probably don't need to know all of them...

    SOR I or II?

it's worth doing SOR II as it isn't quite as much work as most 2 unit subjects, especially if you look at the size of the three extra chapters SOR II students do - i find that the subject is very much memory based rather than really applying things, but it's up to you some people find it easier...

    Excel HSC book?

i so agree with the davis book it's so irritating having all this information that i barely understand and then the teacher lets me know that its way to in-depth and that i should use some study notes that she made that are heaps simpler and easier to understand - so what's this heinemann one...

    distance education!! shit!

with Karabar they begin the prelim. work from week 3, so atm everyone who hasn't got there stuff should be about one week behind - but don't worry too much as there should be one or maybe two weeks where there is no work set that you can use for catch-up

    Excel HSC book?

The Excel HSC book is based on the old syllabus so there are some things which aren't important and some things that haven't been included - it's probably best to just look at the syllabus in conjunction with it :) btw what textbook are you using?

    business studies txtbook

My teacher recommended the latest leading edge one, apparently the two people who made it are really respected in the whole business studies teaching/concept kind of thing. Also for revision and to supplement the textbook it was recommended that we buy the Cambridge study guide. :)

    distance education.2010

actually what you suggested is exactly what i do for SOR II. For SOR I i go to a regular class and for the extra unit i do it in my own time and the teacher gives my assessments. I have the same frustration though with IPT it's just so demanding and just textbook and answers which bores me so...

    Study/Motivation Tips

Re: Studying techniques - how do you do it? Maybe resummarising the study notes. I also like to go through past exams and highlight each topic a different colour so that i can easily go and do questions based upon the topic i might be having difficulty with or even those that i know i need to...

    distance education.2010

I've had pretty much the exact same problem, but im starting to get a bit better at it now :). Except I do Information Processes and Technology and Business Studies through Karabar DE and then I do an extra unit of Studies of Religion (the SOR II half) by myself (minus the assessments which are...

POLL: Is it fair that teachers are allowed to teach at their child's school ?

i've always thought why not, if they teach at a school that they honestly believe in they'd want their kids to have the experience of it too... Wbu? :)
