    Please explain the BCS theory.

Okay, very coherent. Is this actually true? I find it difficult to understand how this works. :p

    Please explain the BCS theory.

I agree with most of what you've written, but like Dumbledore said in the previous post, I don't see how this explains superconductivity, really. You've outlined an isolated case, but aren't there many "concentrations of positively charged particles" throughout the lattice? Because every...

    Please explain the BCS theory.

Please clearly and logically explain the BCS theory. I don't see how the lattice can warp, it makes sense in the isolated case (in a textbook schematic diagram) but you're told that the electrons move collectively and coherently through the lattice, and these cooper pairs somehow just break...

    Which Selective School?

Hahahaha, but elitist because we can be. :p Have to admit this is true to a fair extent, because if you aren't ready to handle the competition in a selective school, it's going to be very rough, rankings and all that jazz. Local schools save you travelling time, meaning more time to study.

    Which Selective School?

To tell you the truth, it doesn't really matter where you are at, so long as you are sure to achieve your personal best. In saying that, selective schools are much better in that the environment is invaluable and conducive to excelling in your studies. But if you are to transfer, just...

Reflections of a 4th yr pharm student--pls read if you're considering pharm

Re: Pls read if you're considering pharm (warning: very lengthy) One of the reasons why I'd hate to go into pharm actually, but it's going down in my preferences this year... I see it as avoiding commerce as much as I can, to learn science, to be shoved back into the stream I despise again...

so how many of you girls fit my criteria

+1. HAHAHAHAHA. I don't think I've laughed so hard from a post in a while! But theism, if your posts don't necessarily reflect your public countenance, it does reflect your inner thoughts, which really are quite unsavoury to say the least. Just because you're not going to scream slut to...

    Some q's from a Yr11er.

I agree, but do you ever feel Jacaranda Physics doesn't cover the syllabus requirements to the required depth?

    Some q's from a Yr11er.

Year 11 physics is highly relevant imo. You need a solid understanding of it before you can proceed with year 12, because the basic concepts and skills you've acquired come into play then. The syllabus is trashy, but we can't do much about it :p. I hate society questions in HSC physics, they...

    Some q's from a Yr11er.

Chillax in year 11. Otherwise, you'd be spent when it actually counts. It would be good for you to consolidate your math at the moment; it would be very wise in fact, because the math only gets harder and you need to remember it all, which comes through practice. Heaps of essay writing...

what do uuuuuuuuu think is da worlds best song????

+1. This made me smirk. Drops of Jupiter - Train. I really want to make an epic, surreal painting out of this post-HSC.

    Would u still do English

I'd definitely still do English. It's very innovative, with the exception of Shakespeare and The Fiftieth Gate - Mark Baker. That only reason that sells is because of the Board of Studies' endorsement.

Who hasn't seen this movie? :p

should i do extension 2 english??

It is a heck of a lot of work. English Extension 1 is already like having an extra 2 unit subject, although it only counts as a 1 unit subject. Don't do it because you're acing advanced, but rather, do it if you are willing to make your own sustained composition over 6 months, research...

wants to hurry up and start yr 12, not waste anymore time in yr 11

Year 11 is a great practice run. Enjoy it while it lasts. :p

ATAR estimate...now I have my actual rankings.

I'd say 95+. You should be aiming to pull up those math ranks if you're school is ranked ~100, although, that is admittedly a generalisation. I'm just considering the candidature. Keep up the good work! :)

    Is this unfair/cheating

I don't think your disposition/character "i am a very honest and well loved student by all teachers" speaks volumes in this circumstance.. I agree with Tully B. It is cheating, according to the rules dictated by the Board of Studies and my school as far as I'm concerned. I'm in disbelief that...

    How would you define postmodernism?

Ironically, that's where it was conceived. Our math extension 2 substitute teacher waltzed into the classroom and drew that on the chalkboard, to our amusement. :haha:

    modern history vs physics

Well, modern history and physics, removed from the HSC, is epic. In the context of the Board of Studies HSC syllabus, well, that's quite different. They do however, involve different approaches in studying. Will you cope with writing essays after essays and learning copious amounts of...

so how many of you girls fit my criteria

No. There is something inherently perverse about a guy with epic expectations who can't live up to them himself.
