    Languages at uni

If you do arts, then you can definitely pick up some languages. If not, if you do a single degree, you'll most likely have some electives, and you can pick a language for that. Or if you go to a university that has general education, then you can take languages for your gen eds, which is what I...

    70 WAM. Easy or difficult?

Algebra was pretty much all different. Calculus, they just go through the proper definitions for cont., differentiability, and like, IVT, MVT etc. The exam questions are easier than 4U in general, but 4U has a huge amount of scaling anyway.

    Elective suggestions for semester 2

astronomy phys1160 is a pretty good elective (might be full now though), since everythings online, and no classes. Theres some info on the handbook website if u haven't already seen it. http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/courses/2011/ARTS1180.html

    What are..

Kinda like high school class I guess, but you only get one a week, as opposed to 5 or whatever. Uni mainly has Lectures and tutorials (also Labs and other). Lectures is with like hundreds of people, tutorials, around 20.

    What are..

Lol, no they're not tutors. They are tutorials, i.e. classes where you have a "teacher" (tutor) and you go through the weeks lecture materials/topics and do some questions/ask questions etc. As to if everyone gets these, most courses have these.

    HSC Subjects and University

You'll be fine without them but they will help slightly, moreso for Maths. I didn't do phys and it was alright, and apparently HSC physics doesn't really help.

When do we get our marks?

Usually it gets emailed the night before the date it says, i.e. the 12th.

    What is your WAM?

yes it might be easier. But in first year i did most of the same subjects as engineering anyway... i did maths, phys, computing. there are only 3 first year math courses at unsw. math 1a, 1b and discrete maths. and most engineerings do both the maths..

Do you have to pass Finals to pass the course?

I think most courses aren't scaled though. They usually only scale to fit the required levels for the university standards (and for higher/lower courses), so if the marks are fine, i.e. right amount of HD's D's and C's then they'll just leave it, and most courses should be okay with that imo.
