TBH those parts of the syllabus are rather annoying. But there aren't that many points about the history, etc - the balance at the moment seems alright.
I doubt it'll make up for hundreds of lost hours, pretty much just a marketing line. It might help, but it will not save you, you still have to study =p
Maybe you could try doing one of the past papers posted here in the resources, and see how you go in those - post your here and people can judge more accurately.
Since 3U maths is essentially just 2U maths but slightly more advanced, it can only help you raise your 2U mark..
The only one updated so far for the new syllabus is Sam Davis's one. However even that misses out on a number of points. You can probably do some of your own research for those.
According to some other rumours, they're not. Or it's not a priority, or something. Either way, you're unlikely to get the fully fledged MS office there.
It's Apple - so no. You'd probably be better off getting a netbook or one of the hundreds of other ___pads that suddenly appeared after the iPad was released.

If I did more than 10 units, I would give myself too much leeway with each subject. That and, business studies bored me to death.
The only thing I've stuffed up majorly is English, which is going to count anyway (fml)
