    Laptops or Desktops?

A new dell desktop with a 22" will set you back around $1200 A new XPS M1530 will set you back between $2k - $2200 (both top end models from dell of course) yeah i know, but atm on a price/size basis, they seem to be the best value for money. I agree, we own a 17" inspiron too, its a...

    Accomodation.

IF you have ANU on your preference list, Apply for accommodation anyway! There are no fees to apply AND if you don't get into ANU, your accommodation application is already canceled. There is NO reason not to apply. It takes like 20 minutes to apply, and it saves the mess of trying to find a...

    - does anyone here live at B&G? blacksunset... what's the social life like? She will say they are pretty good, personally i don't think they're as sociable as they catered colleges (mainly because they are not forced to eat together) how are the kitchens? They're big, Each group is given a...

    Laptops or Desktops?

A desktop with a 22" screen is about a thousand dollars less than a 15" laptop with the same specs. I don't really think space is an issue. It sits on the floor at the end of your desk - doesn't take up much space at all. If you decide to get a desktop, just buy a wireless keyboard and mouse...

Mac Comps. Are You A Victim?

So you bought a new mac because your current comp didn't have the specs to handle vista? Fuck that's dumb.

    Cycling? for dummies?

I'm just repeating what happened to a mate of mine about a month ago. He had a road bike that was worth a few grand, he loaned it to a mate to try it (who was giving it a test ride), first gutter, the front rim bent in. Before you hit the defensive and say it was a one off or a shit bike or...

    bonus points for actuarial studies

Sammy_blue would know a lot more about this than me (as he does this degree). But from my understanding if you don't get into honors (or was it a minimum credit average?) you have to sit a different set of exams after you've done your degree in order to get accreditation as an actuary.

    Cycling? for dummies?

Oh 2 other things 1) i'd go mountain bike over road bike (a reasonable quality one too, not just a bigw bike) because the thin wheels can break if you jump down a gutter. GEtting double walled tires is also good because they won't pierce as easily too. 2) 5km isn't really alot, and well you can...

    Cycling? for dummies?

I also bought a 'high vis (dark orange) backpack with reflective panels. It looks pretty cool (doesn't look too dorky). During the day it makes me a bit more noticible from behind (and i don't wear the high-vis vest). At night i have an array of lights from kathmandu (actually atm they have 50%...

    Cycling? for dummies?

Just a few things - * Make sure you have a proper bag of some description (with two shoulder straps). I find the satchel type bags slide around the body (hit your legs) and make it really hard to ride. * If you know you're riding in bad light - consider investing in a high visability vest. Yes...

Who have higher standards: Men or Women?

From that statement i'd think the opposite, i mean maybe the women are too picky themselves and can't find the 'perfect guy' - you know the one to sweep them of their feet, good looking, intelligent, easy to manipulate, and has heaps of money.... is that even possible? Just look at all those...
