Cut out the retelling of the plot, and only keep passages that are essential to your thesis. That's some 250-300 words out already. If a part seems disjointed with the rest of the text - remove it.

Heck, depending on the marker you could get extra marks ;D Just along as you can tie it very well with your prescribed, and dont focus only on the plot and shift around themes and conflicting views.

Do the creative last - the ideas flowing from the prev. two sections will help you alot. Plus creatives are much easier to tie up and end than an EFFECTIVE essay.

Actually, find teh awesome book called "Programming Logic and Design". It WILL help you in EVERY language. The pseudocode at least you will master. BTW, start off in VB6 ONLY to understand how each function of programming works. Otherwise, if you try C++ first, you will be very overwhelmed.
