    International/global studies & law at USYD/UTS/UNSW

    The compulsory units were pretty crap at USyd, thats why I transferred out of International&Global Studies at USyd in Sem2. I think an exchange study for a semester overseas is compulsory in UNSW, as opposed to USyd.

    Depends on the students, I memorised my essays. And I also learnt additional techniques and examples if things didn't work out.

    Sometimes the lectures are recorded. But if they aren't, and if you wanted to do something like that, I think you have to request for the lecturer's permission, unless you could do it subtlely.

    Most people still stick to pen and paper though. And if they are used, they're primarily used in lectures as opposed to tutes.

    You get that 6k, and use it for whatever purpose you want.

    ^A few friends received a UAI/ATAR of 96/97 last year and with the assistance of EAS, were able to get into UNSW Law.

    There's still hope though, so who knows. But from my experiences, just from a head count, you'd usually find that faculties like the Faculty of Economics & Business are more inclined to provide scholarships based on high ATARs in excess of 99 than the Arts Faculty. I only know of about 2...

    I know of people with 99.7+ UAI/ATAR who applied for scholarships within the Arts Faculty and didn't receive one unfortunately...

    For 2008ers: Does SAM (from 2007) and your actual UAI differ much?

    Depends on the person and the type of calculator used. I think SAM's estimate differed by either 0.05 or 0.1 last year for me.
