Actually MBP's aren't bad. I've got quite a few laptops (I get new laptops every few months or so). Alienware, Dell, Acer, Asus, HP, Toshiba, MSI etc and I gotta say MBP is pretty fun and useful to use if you know how (the battery is pretty shit though). The only thing better in interface...

wow I'm actually physically tired coming home from uni although I've only got 3 lectures. Too much walking around -_-

I have 1 lecturer who is boring and who goes through slides too quickly. Is there a likely possibility of not going to lectures and just relying on textbooks + course notes + tutorials and still do well? Anyone doing this?

This. Except try to take notes at the same time. Take general notes the first listening and go more specific the second - building on the general notes with specific notes that you think are fitting to the question given.
