yes, if you want to get technical then raw exam and unaligned but moderated school assessment marks are used for your atar, but for all intents and purposes it doesn’t really matter since unless you pay you won’t get your raw marks and atar calculators etc all show you aligned-> atar...

for what it’s worth I found y12 chem a lot more interesting and chill than y11 chem, keep in mind you don’t have to decide yet though, you have plenty of time I’d give both subjects your all for prelims and then based on how they go you can make up your mind

it’s pretty hard to get further along, from what I remember it’s not just your HOY ref but it is a major factor in getting to the next stage. most people who get tuckwell are pretty crazy though (one person I know who got it got 2 state ranks afterwards), it’s definitely not an easy scholarship...

i doubt he could get that many hours of tutoring, whereas a more standard job he could work closer to full time hours

early bird just means you pay less if you apply by a certain date, you can change your preferences whenever u want and srs (early entry) is still ages away

there are so many more people in uni and a lot of people are kinda lonely, I feel like if u have confidence it’s pre easy compared to high school where people have known you for a lot longer and already sorta have their impressions

nope, if you rank first both internally and in the hsc exam then your mark will just be your own hsc mark

nah just put in lots of effort (the same as you would for a hard subject) and make sure u do really really well in it and it’ll offset the scaling
