Yeah and with english it's foremost important to develop clarity in what you're ideas. Simpler thesises make this easier as opposed to complicated ones. That said if you get a more complex and specific thesis, if you can explain your shit well and it relates then why not use it?

Well that's just valuing some subjective, abstract concept of becoming "better" (what is better). It lacks any integrity.

Though if it's for skills based subs like maths then practice also makes ~perfect~.

First make sure you have a solid concept of what's being taught. For some people making/reading notes is the way to go. Doing past papers is useless otherwise (though again some people can "learn" through doing questions)
