HSC English --> Ask your questions

For AoS, would we need to provide about 3-4 sentences giving a short synopsis of the prescribed text [poems]? (I'm choosing two poems from my prescribed text, so a short synopsis for each paragraph I introduce these poems?). Do we assume the marker does not know the PT?

    & instead of 'and'

Re: Probably a really dumb question =/ LOL!! I'm totally in the habit of writing '&' as opposed to 'and'. In the trials I did this, and in one paragraph the teacher circled all of my &'s and there were literally just 8 circles all over it. It's annoying how they pay that much attention to that...

HSC English --> Ask your questions

I just wanted to ask a question about last year's Module A question: "Analyse how Frankenrunner imaginatively portray individuals who challenge the established values of their times." For Frankenstein, you can mention Victor's transgression of the beliefs of the Romanticists (against the...

Steps involved in drawing a context/data flow diagram?

I think your 'preparation guide' is good, but I wouldn't think drawing them all up first & linking them later would be a good idea, you would probably have arrows going everywhere. I would just write them down first, then reading the information draw it up as I go, crossing off the entities/data...

    Physics marathon 2011

    - The transistor replaced the thermionic device. Although both are used for the same purpose (amplifying a signal or 'electrical switching'), the transistor replaced the thermionic device for many reasons: it is cheaper, smaller & lightweight, requires less power, has a longer life and is more...

    Physics marathon 2011

'g' can be determined in a number of ways. Firstly, a pendulum can be attached to a non-elastic string to a retort stand. The mass of the pendulum is irrelevant. The pendulum is then deflected to a maximum of 30 degrees (any more, and the string will lose tension) from the perpendicular of...

How messy is your handwriting allowed to get in english?

The other day in our Adv English class, we were going through reading an 'exemplary' response from the 2010 HSC Paper 2. As the teacher was reading it out, he literally struggled to read every 4th word. It was ridiculous, the most illegible handwriting I (and most of the whole class) had seen...

So where are those HSC exam papers stored?

I have been told they are kept in jails/prisons, but I can't confirm this.

    Post your Physics questions here.

No, that's all they give you. It's a multiple choice question from a CSSA paper. In the marking criteria it was also mentioned as a band 5/6 question...

    Two calculators to be safe?

Ahaha it's cool man. Sorry; I didn't mean to sound so offended. LOL! A good year 9/10 prank we used to do for trigonometry topic tests was to change each others' calculators to radians...... and they'd never pick up on it. Good days

    Two calculators to be safe?

It's funny how on these forums, anyone who posts anything that appears to be unbelievable is a 'troll'. I've been here longer than you have. I'm no troll. It was a true story by the way. Everyone after the exam was laughing their heads off when they found out.

    Two calculators to be safe?

Yes, take two calculators. Also, change their batteries. I knew a friend a few years back who took 3 calculators into a maths exam. All 3 failed to work.
