You'd be surprised. They even made "safety coffins" to help stop it, attaching bells for the people to ring so they could be dug up.

If you look back in history, people were always 'coming back to life'. It was because of the people's lack of understanding. Someone could have fainted, knocked out, or something, and people would think they were dead, only for them to wake up again. Seems more likely that Jesus was a case of this.
