It might be useful to post the question up as well, for those who don't have access to that book.

    Help: Maths: Applications of Derivatives..

Find the first derivative, then sub the points into the equation of the parabola and simultaneously solve. Remember that at a turning point, the first derivative is equivalent to 0. You should get a = -2, b = 8 and c = 10, if I thought it through right.

    Not So Bad???

Reminds me of a Simpsons episode in which Bart pours 'sodium tetrasulfate' onto the grass to spell out his name, then fails to get away with it :p Not the funniest moment, but it just came into my head when I read that :o You're welcome :shy: Hope you do well in the rest of your assignments...

    Not So Bad???

Thanks :) Aww, I'm sure you didn't do that badly, and even if you did, you'll pick it up in the next few assessments with some good work :uhhuh: Ahh, reminds me of older days :o We just had water bombs and the like, but then our school 'banned' us from doing anything for a muck up day, so...

    Not So Bad???

Tis' fine, gave me a nice distraction from this bioethics presentation I need to get done by Monday, but need to finish tonight because I won't have time this weekend to complete it :o:)Call me Gab.

    Not So Bad???

There's ones I do genuinely like and there's ones that I tolerate more than I like them. I still do like them and consider those in the latter category as friends, but not as much as those I do like. My general definition of friendship is rather broad actually, but I can see why you can come to...

    Not So Bad???

I'm a good friend to those I do like though, I hope :shy:

    Not So Bad???

Don't exploit the inconsistencies :o My problem is that unless I like the person enough, I won't put as much effort into maintaining the friendship that I know I could put in, which isn't helped with my natural tendency towards laziness :( I'm incredibly happy with my current group of friends...

    Not So Bad???

Can't help the natural drift sometimes :(:oYou should talk to some of the people I am friends with :o
  18. S

    Not So Bad???

Pretty much, although with me, some of them are worth keeping in contact with, I've just been lazy :o
  19. S

    Not So Bad???

I've only really stayed in contact with those that are going to the same uni that I am, which has been around 8 people from our group at school. Only really stayed good friends with 4 of them though. Not that it isn't possible to stay good friends after school, just that I haven't kept in...

    distinction courses

Yes. I know a few people who got into Cosmology last year with marks in the E3 range for extension courses and even band 5s (albeit high band 5s) in a 2 unit course, so you should be fine there. They should have the same standard for Philosophy, so no issues there.
