Yeah, I've heard this as well, that they're using an averaged mark instead of GPA cutoff....would be good for those who've just missed out on D's or HD's in the past. I'm happy to wait until the 10th this time around...thinking about it makes me feel ill right now.

Yeah, it sucks because the stock could have sold in the meantime. 3 months is a long time too, do many people forget their layby's and can you cancel them if they do?

What should my 2nd job be?

Promotional work is usually very easy to fit around a schedule, I used to do it as a second job. Agencies usually advertise on Seek when they need people (especially coming up to Christmas), otherwise Google for promotional agencies and email your resume through. I used to do sample and...

That sucks! Greedy bastards. I'm lucky, if people want to cancel layby's at my work, they forfeit their deposit, so no one ever cancels :)

    Hsc At Tafe?

Yes, it's best to go to your local TAFE campus and organise an appointment with either the head of the department that your course is in (for the HSC I think it's the General Education dept.), or the TAFE counsellor, who'll give you up to date info. Like you've said, they only offer the HSC...

Application for Postgrad Diploma of Psychology at UWS

I haven't applied myself (just finished second year of undergrad), but I have heard of people getting in with a 4.x GPA in previous years. It's worth a try! Are you able to take more undergrad subjects to boost your GPA if you don't make it in, or have you graduated? Good luck regardless :)

Nah, I have a lot of mates who live in the area though so I'm usually up there. I work in Seven Hills, another bogan paradise :P. On the topic of flirty customers, I've been asked for my number a couple of times in both of my jobs. Telling them that I have a boyfriend doesn't really deter...

If you mean Richmond in NSW, it's not as well off out there as other areas of Sydney, it's very middle class like the others said (hahaha, bogan paradise is so true). Definitely a lot less money there than Cremorne. Had an idiot come in today wanting to exchange an item from last summer's...

Nah it doesn't bug me, but it does take up a considerable amount of time canceling the processing of the current payment and choosing a new one (my POS is very slow too).

    UAI in one year

You can do the Certificate IV in Tertiary Preparation (TPC) full time for 12 months at some campuses and get a TES which is converted to a UAI for entry into most university courses. I did the course in 2007. https://www.tafensw.edu.au/howex/servlet/Course?Command=GetCourse&CourseNo=9048

    The Woolworths Thread

LOL so true! I wish NYD trading could be like Anzac day, so people would have the mornings to try and get over the hangover.

Does anybody work at Crust Pizza

If you like the food, then getting freebies or discounts will be good. You'll also get to see the preparation of what you consume (which, depending on the staff's hygiene practices, could be a good or bad thing).

    I screwed up my diploma

Can you just redo the subjects that you've screwed up in the new year and couple it with paid employment? A couple of people I knew when I was at TAFE came back the next year to repeat their failed subjects - saves starting something new. Or take a couple of subjects through Open Uni, or UWS and...

    Fail Customers

Me: *on the phone trying to say something very important to boss* Bogan: *walks in, looks at thongs stand which is surrouded by signs with prices* Bogan: *picks up most expensive type of thong, which all have massive rainbow pricetags attached* Bogan: *glares at me* "How much are your...

    Working at Gloria Jeans/coffee shops

Gloria Jeans would give in house barista training, but when I worked at a cafe I took a barista certificate on top of in house training. Personally, I found coffee making and dealing with food frustrating, but give it a go anyway, it can be fun!

    Rules for Customers

While I don't sell lingerie, I do sell swimwear and we are unable to exchange due to hygiene purposes, which is a common practice across retailers. We do offer exchanges for full priced items, but for sale items it can be difficult because a style of clothing can sell out within a matter of...

    Question about psychology at UWS

It's still going well, though my enthusiasm has dropped given I have exams all of next week haha. The School of Psych has recently introduced changes to the degree, some Psych core subjects have been "split into two" and are now covered more in depth, but some "interesting" subjects like...

    Rules for Customers

This is the bane of my life. There's a giant sign saying "No exchange or refund" on my sale racks - yet I have people come in asking if they can "only change the size". Arghh!
