    Medical Science or Advanced Science?

Yep thanks for the advice! Will definitely consider it :) Yeah I've heard about that entry scheme at UWS. Sounds a lot easier than the UNSW Medical Science scheme but I'm sure the competition compensates for that haha. Hmm would you know about how difficult it is to get into postgraduate...

    HSC Advice

Yeah I have the same problem with reading in paper 1. I tend to read it over and over until I fully understand it. Maybe in your reading time you could point out some key words in the question and try to find a basic link in the four texts. Especially with long articles I just underline short...

    Medical Science or Advanced Science?

Which of these provide the best pathway to medicine? And if not medicine, which has the best career opportunities? I've heard that advanced science generally has better career opportunities. What do you think? :)

    Choosing biology and others ~~~

I would say go for it if you want to do those subjects. I'm sure you can always change your subjects in the first couple of weeks if you don't like them. Biology is very English related and does require a lot of reading and writing whereas Chemistry involves some problem solving but those can be...

    Projectile Motion

It depends on the vertical direction of the projectile. If it is moving upwards, the acceleration will be negative since it is pushing it down. In other words, it is acting in the opposite direction. If it's moving downwards, the acceleration will be positive because they are (projectile and...

Its probably too late to make notes now so what you should do is learn all the answers to all syllabus dot points. Make sure you understand all important concepts and methods of answering questions. For biology especially, learn all the key verbs that can be asked in the question (I'll put a...

    Genre Theory ??

We didn't really learn about it either but I mentioned it in a speech I had a couple of days ago and my teacher seemed to like it. So yeah go for it, but don't stray too far from what you're meant to be discussing. Also try to enmesh it into your topic if you choose to talk about it. For example...

Extension 1 Essay Question Ideas/Deconstruction Help

Talk about how the composer is somewhat required to 'detach' from the traditional conventions of the genre. I don't know about Anil's Ghost but for Rear Window you can explain the idea of the trapped detective and how that subverts customary notions of the genre.

How do you avoid the overuse of words like 'thus' and 'hence'?

Find similar words (e.g. subsequently, moreover, as a result) and practise incorporating them into your essay instead.

Help with time dilation question :(

    This should be right.. Apply the length contraction formula to both scenarios (L1 is girl, L2 is boy): L1 = 6.8√(1-0.9^2) L1 = 2.96 light years L2 = 6.8√(1-0.4^2) L2 = 6.23 light years Now convert this distance into metres by multiplying by (9.46 x 10^15): L1 = 2.80 x 10^16 L2 = 5.90 x 10^16...

For an incursion we had with the CSIRO we grew E. coli with the glowing gene found in jellyfish. That was pretty cool..
