    Final Estimate

You're competing against students who are mostly good in English. Also different modules align differently apparently.

    Predictions for Chemistry 2014 HSC?

Once you're in the band 6 range, getting extra HSC marks (i.e, 91,92 etc) progressively get harder, requiring more raw marks. 96 is a mark close to state rank, so I'm guessing 90 raw. titration backwards You teach us. Humble/10 Yes he is modest. Bullshitism/10

    Predictions for Chemistry 2014 HSC?

What are you ranked? As long as everyone above you will do well, you shouldn't be affected that much. I am ranked 12th on a course mark of 88 (yes i know we do not get marks, but it's not hard to calculate them) and 1st is on 92. Literally 4 marks, makes 12 rank difference.

    Memorising

I think that from now till the HSC, you should write as many essays on MOD B, answering them with a wide range of the poems so that you can test your understanding and you won't have to rely on memorising.

    Predictions for Chemistry 2014 HSC?

True true, and i believe a question like such hasn't popped up recently (i shall check tonight and confirm tomorrow). Most students don't pick up on it because each info is taught in different modules, and because in the ACIDS module, it's always acid rain and it's been drilled into our heads...

    Predictions for Chemistry 2014 HSC?

With dodgy marking criteria, i think it wouldn't be a waste of time. It would probably set you aside from the rest of the state which stick with only acid rain, however you show thorough and in depth Chemistry knowledge. Probably a few students talk about ozone.

    Predictions for Chemistry 2014 HSC?

I was just thinking, and I've never seen sample answers refer to the production of ozone.

    Predictions for Chemistry 2014 HSC?

Other evidence you could talk about include - - decreasing pH levels in waterways. - erosion/corrosion of limestone monuments/buildings, apparent in USA. - photochemical smog Question: -There has been an increase in the concentration of the oxides of nitrogen in the atmosphere as a result...

    Final Estimate

Okay i am assuming you mean what raw mark gets aligned to a HSC mark of 85. Last year 81/100 (raw) got 91 75/100 got 88 65/100 got 81 I reckon 70/100 raw should get you 85 HSC mark.

    Predictions for Chemistry 2014 HSC?

There is also another trend. As you go down the periodic table it becomes more "basic" and on the RHS, as you move up, becomes more acidic. But I guess question wasn't worded correctly for you to pick up on that. Next question??

    Graphing question

You will never find the equation if they merely give you a graph

    Order of doing Paper 1

Exactly what I do. Plus generally these papers tend to have a theme throughout, so read creative and essay questions first, and if it's about identity or whatever, you'll know to look for techniques and BLAH BLAH to do with that theme
