    Does God exist?

Hmm...fair enough. It's just my opinion.
  2. HumanDichotomy

    Does God exist?

Yeah. Well I guess what I'm saying is that the concept of 'God' doesn't have to be supernatural/religious if one doesn't see it that way...insofar as it could simply refer to one's concept of whatever started the universe, if 'something' did. Imo, if there is another force out there, we can...

    Cadbury goes fairtrade

In the end, I think chocolate is popular enough that people will pay the extra.
  4. HumanDichotomy

    Does God exist?

Yes, but one does not necessarily argue it in a religious context, and if they do, these contexts are DIFFERENT from one another, such as a Hindu arguing with a Christian. The idea of calling it 'God' certainly comes from a religious context...but you're obviously arguing it from a scientific...

    Does God exist?

Why? That's exactly my point. The human concept of 'God' is supernatural. But what if it's not? What if there's something that exists, like infrared light that is natural, as Garygaz suggested. My point is that debating about God presupposes some universal conception of it, which is...

    Cadbury goes fairtrade

I agree. I mean, it certainly won't kill us to pay just a little more...and it doesn't even make a difference in the end, I mean they're living on so little, and in such awful conditions that it would be monstrous not to pay the extra. I think people *do* care, they just don't know what to do...

    Democracy

Yeah fair enough. What else do you think could be successful?

Some are born gay, some achieve gayness, and some have gayness thrust upon them

No. They're just women with 'Y' chromosomes, penises, facial hair and testicles. I see what you mean.

Some are born gay, some achieve gayness, and some have gayness thrust upon them

Yeah..but the Australian values are supposed the EVERYONE deserves a fair go...not whether or not they were created equal or whether their actions...choices...whatever you want to put it down to...excludes them from this.

Some are born gay, some achieve gayness, and some have gayness thrust upon them

But anyway, back to the original subject, or close to, anyway..I heard Simon Crean quoted on the radio, talking about the Australian values of 'a fair go', tolerance and inclusiveness. In the light of the fact that we don't even let two people who love each other legalise their marriage, I found...

Gay people should not be allowed to access IVF

I heard Simon Crean quoted on the radio, talking about the Australian values of 'a fair go', tolerance and inclusiveness. In the light of the subject of this thread, I considered that very ironic...

Ew. Weird thought...but interesting. Who *does* own dead bodies?

    Australian Politics

There's a new ad campaign...did anyone hear? $20m for an ad company to come up with something that'll appeal not only to tourists, but to investors, international students, etc. D'you think they'll get it right this time?

    American Politics

Re: America and their Problems That's sad. Last of the Kennedy brothers...they really did have a tragic time, that family. Although, considering TK's health, not wholly unexpected. Doesn't make it any less sad though.

    When is it a baby?

You raise some really interesting points. In SOR, we learn that, yeah, people have many different ideas on abortion, and also that it is rarely taken lightly. And also, you're right that people rarely seem to take the father's POV into account, which I actually hadn't really thought of. I...

    When is it a baby?

Yeah...legally it's 24 weeks but it can be exceeded if the circumstances are serious...

    Cadbury goes fairtrade

    Woot! About time. :)
  18. HumanDichotomy

    Does God exist?

What does it matter in the end? Why are we all trying so hard to prove or disprove the existence of God, when in the end, we can never know? Kwayera, you said yourself: Our lack of knowledge about the existence of God does NOT disprove it...as you say, nor does the existence of scientific...

    Nuclear Power?

    Hmm. Yeah...totally.
  20. HumanDichotomy

    Does God exist?

Yeah. And...Leviticus says you can have a slave from a neighbouring island, also that you shellfish is an abomination...
