    When is it a baby?

What he's talking about here is people who are considered 'vegetables', i.e. people without higher level brain functions, not actual vegetables.
  2. HumanDichotomy

    When is it a baby?

So if you terminate it after then, should it be considered murder?
  3. HumanDichotomy

    When is it a baby?

What about if it has a problem?

    When is it a baby?

Hey guys. Just wondering your opinions on when a fetus becomes a baby? When should/shouldn't we abort a pregnancy? Interesting case, which was what started me thinking about this in the first place... I was talking to my school chaplain today and he was telling me about a friend of his who...

Some are born gay, some achieve gayness, and some have gayness thrust upon them

This is a good article arguing for gay rights. It's from an American point of view, but still relevant. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/rob-thomas/the-big-gay-chip-on-my-sh_b_208183.html

Fly me to the the moon, let me sing among the stars...?

I don't think we should go back to the moon, because: - It's not particularly sensible at this time of recession or deficit or whatever stage it is we're in now. - There are many, many problems here on Earth that warrant spending money on that are definitely more important than another moon...

Some are born gay, some achieve gayness, and some have gayness thrust upon them

And? This doesn't automatically make me an 'idiot'. I agree that I mayn't have had certain life experiences, but on the other hand, you know barely anything about me other than my graduating year. What could you know about things which inform my views? But anyway...this is irrelevant and very...

Some are born gay, some achieve gayness, and some have gayness thrust upon them

Why? Simply because I disagree with you? If I thought myself an idiot I wouldn't even bother posting, as I would consider my views and arguments not worthy of sharing.

Some are born gay, some achieve gayness, and some have gayness thrust upon them

Ok, fair enough. I was more referring to the 'fool' thing. It was just the tone.
  11. HumanDichotomy

Some are born gay, some achieve gayness, and some have gayness thrust upon them

Iron, please don't insult me. Just because we have different views doesn't mean we have to label each other...for example, many times I have been tempted to label you as a 'crazy, Bible-bashing conservative', but have refrained because I think you're entitled to your views in the end, though I...

Some are born gay, some achieve gayness, and some have gayness thrust upon them

Iron, you still haven't answered my question. How would you feel if someone forced you to renounce a part of you? If homosexuality is really so full of the 'empty, fleeting meaning of materialism' then surely gay people would seek something more? The reason they can't just denounce it is they...

Some are born gay, some achieve gayness, and some have gayness thrust upon them

But in the end, is homosexuality hurting anyone? There are beneficial genetic variations, detrimental genetic variations and neutral variations. Not all are necessarily bad. And in the end, whether genetic or not, there's a crucial difference between homosexuality and alcoholism. See, the thing...

Some are born gay, some achieve gayness, and some have gayness thrust upon them

I agree. It's just another fear of difference thing. Good quote from Tony Blair:
  15. HumanDichotomy

Some are born gay, some achieve gayness, and some have gayness thrust upon them

You're right, in a way. So called 'liberals', as I've said before, can be just as bigoted and narrow minded as those they call 'conservatives'.
