    Band 6 Still Achievable? (Chemistry)

It seems like you're confused with the terminology... BOS (Board of Studies) does the raw mark to HSC mark stuff and scaling is solely done by UAC. UAC DOES SCALING AND NO ONE ELSE DOES. For each subject UAC scales the marks, and in the HSC what determines your atar is the addition of your...

    Should I drop this subject?

Just drop it and refocus all your time to other subjects and maximize your marks.

Year 11 Subject Selection - HELP PLEASE!!!!

Word of advice, only have 12 units in year 12, 10 would be much better. Reason is because only 10 of your units are going to count to your atar. Instead of wasting time on an additional 2 or more units of work, focus on other subjects to maximise marks and atar. Legit do not go into HSC with...

    Band 6 Still Achievable? (Chemistry)

Wouldn't it be much higher? the raw marks for 90 & 95 have a significant gap don't they? And zhertec if you're aiming for mid band 6 in chem, you have to know your stuff back to front and show extensive knowledge for every syllabus dot point. HSC marking for chem is harsh and they're very picky

    Question about atar !

The only bonus points that apply to these med and law courses are stuff like the elite athletes program which includes musicians and all that. However you must fit a certain criteria to get bonus marks. Med and law do not have bonus points programs in regards to getting a band 6 in certain...

Just tell your brothers mate to get over being depressed because he has roughly 8 weeks until the HSC. In that 8 weeks he can study his ass off and smash externals, just tell him to study.

My school wants to make me repeat?!?!

Appeal it with the school and talk to your principal, if nothing happens and they stand on their original decision, take it up with the Board of Studies. I'm pretty sure if you mention Bored of Studies they'll reconsider, because if BOS gets involved then it just becomes a serious problem

    Doctor certificate

People like that piss me off! Taking the day of the exam off, and then most likely asking people whats in the test and studying for that, then rocking up to school with a bullshit doctors certificate

What are the hardest 3 unit maths trial exams?

Probably Ruse and Grammar... They always make interesting papers which are not that hard, maybe the projectile or binomial here and there but they require you to think and there more application based in a way

Hypothetical: Should we switch English exams over to a digital format?

I reckon that english exams are set to distinguish between those who are able to write in 40 minutes a succinct and concise response, adequately answering the question with thorough detail and explanation... If it comes to computers, most people can type like 1300+ words especially if their body...

    i dont get this

Its all about ranks, the internal marks, along with the external marks that the cohort gets, is used by Board of Studies to determine the difficulty of the exams set by the schools, and then modify internal marks.
