    Overloading of subjects.

The MQ system doesn't let you enrol in more unless you have a rule waiver put in

    Overloading of subjects.

Depends on the person, depends on the subjects. I would not recommend it to a first year. I've done it, tried it again this semester but the subjects were more labour intensive and time consuming and thus dropped one.

First year at uni and hate it!

    1. You have no idea how much work inside or outside of uni. My contact hours may be less but I am pretty sure that I qualify as a real student by my excessive reading load + 2 days of work a week + my honours thesis + mooting + being overloaded in terms of units but I know you're the type of...

First year at uni and hate it!

Honey, life in the real world is the same if not harder. Get used to it. Personally going in early/finishing late doesn't bother me that much. I do a day where I need to be at campbelltown at 9am for a class 9-12, then at macquarie 2-6 for lectures and tutes, yeah I feel like shit at the end...

    law clerk position

I generally see them used to describe the same thing. In particular because in my experience, my paralegal work is so varied it emcompases any of the possible differences.

Hmm, ever thought you've chosen the wrong course?

There are many students who find this, particularly at university level. The best way to maintain motivation and so well in a course is to find one that suits your abilities and interests. Stick it out for a bit as first year is already a hard transition, you may end up liking it. If not I...

Can you be enrolled in two unis at once? What happens and how do I do it?

You would most likely have to do one and then the other. The reason there is set double degrees is because in a double degree you do less subjects than you would doing two separate degrees as some subjects count for the other degree. E.g. arts/law separate would be 6 years, double is 5 because a...

How are uni essays different to high school ones?

the reason they say not to quote is because any one can quote something, but a good student can understand what was said and put it in their own words. The only time you should quote directly is where quote expresses it in a fantastic way, the quote gives something extra to the idea or is...

How to manage your reading load

In my experience: 1. It takes time getting used to reading at this level, there isn't much you can do to speed it up other than keep at it. You will find next year you'll be a fait bit faster 2. You may never get through all of it, I rarely do but you start to learn how to decide which is...

When do Grads actually start work?

It can be anywhere between Nov/Dec -> March, all places looking for grads this year would probably have their dates up, google individual places to get exact dates

    law clerk position

Not really, each has their own style. Its pretty stock standard really, unless they are the type to be different. Gadens asked me to write a paragraph describing my favourite dessert in mouth watering detail. Be relaxed, confident and listen carefully to questions. I still dont know if what I do...

    law clerk position

Most law students are desparate for this kind of work. I have worked 1-2 days per week in a paralegal capacity for a number of years in my degree. Any such experience even if only typing and filing is still beneficial in the job hunt and may even lead to progression within that firm. As to...
