    Law Electives: Any advice/warnings?

LAW521 - is fantastic! I loved it as was LAW415, I would recommend both. LAW415 is very practical and you get to role play disputes so its very fun! I am doing LAW421, LAW428 and LAW522 this year so I'll let you know. I'd also recommend LAW438 - access to justice although apps would be closed...

Possible to work 2-3 days while studying Accounting/Law?

Plus, its much harder to work and study at the beginning, I would reduce the workload at least for the first semester or two and then see how you go. Personally I try to keep it down to 1-2 days per week but I am better at balancing it all now I am used to uni etc

How much english is required for law?

Dude, I wouldn't call them 'easy law judgements'...interesting yes. OP generally you'll be reading newer cases that are more recent and thus the english is a bit easier to understand!

    Laptops at university

Yeah they have good battery life and as long as you find it ok to type on the go for it. I didn't go a net book because we don't have a desktop anymore so I needed something I can use at home for my itunes, photos etc plus uni, so I compromised for a 3kg 14.1 inch Sony Vaio...its preeeety

    Laptops at university

You might look a bit douchey but trust me it hurts to carry it that way, get a nice backpack that either has a section for it or it will at least fit in. Makes it seem a lot less heavy. I use it for lectures and study because 1.my handwriting is terrible and 2. I have the internet and all my...

    Laptops at university

Its a personal preference but most people who have laptops bring something between 13-15 inches or they bring a net book. The main issues any bigger would pose is 1. fitting in your backpack (and trust me it hurts less when you bring it in a back pack rather than a sholder bag) and 2. the...

    textbooks

If you buy them new it can be up to $800 or so in a semester (when you have an academic who decides to set a few books) generally I spend about $500, depends on the subjects.

How much english is required for law?

You'll be fine, its a particular comand of English that will partly be taught at law school and is hard to determine based on HSC results. As long as you can comprehend, analyse and communicate effectively then you'll be fine. The rest is picked up!

B/Business and Commerce @ UWS or UTS Insearch?

Personally I'd go to UWS, you could always apply to transfer to UTS after a year if you want. Save the money, Insearch is quiet expensive.

chances of working with 6 subjects per semester?

Personally I'd advise only working one day per week for your first semester until you gauge the level of work required for your course. I found working two full days when I was in my first year too much (although this depends on course and person) but I now find it easier to work two or more...

    Enrol in Units??

To be fair to Pwar we get asked the same thing year and year again, it can get frustrating! While may have seemed harsh, something people find hardest to adjust to is to the lack of help you get at uni compared to school. A note to you new guys, I was at uni today at student services and saw...

    Generic University Questions

    1. Depends on the degree 2. Depends on the degree. 3.Depends on the course and unit 4. Personal preference. I prefer to get it all over with and its easier to go when you have a few classes rather than just an hr or 2 but again its personal preference. 5.At MQ...lots of people but I find it...
