Doing the sums - does a private education add up?

Fair call. I would rather my children be educated in a multicultural school rather than one that is 95% Asian etc.

How hard does General Maths get?

It can't be hard really. Compound interest repayments would probably be the hardest.

Doing the sums - does a private education add up?

Perhaps you missed my note. I value the Australian economy and society over any other country's, as every Australian should. I don't hold any grudges against people of any X skin colour.

Doing the sums - does a private education add up?

Here here. I don't have a problem with religious schools personally. If it is a Christian school, no problem. If it is a radical Islamic school teaching students that terrorists are martyrs, then yes that is a problem.

What's everyone planning to accomplish these holidays?!

Everyone has problems. No one is perfect. If he drinks vodka or similar throughout the day although is a good teacher and coherent (and doesn't do anything inapprorpiate to students) then I really don't see the problem.

thinking about picking up engineering. need advice.

Engineering (especially elec.) does involve a lot of mathematics, it is hardly mechanics, projectile motion and inverse trig ratios though. You might cover those in your first 4 weeks of university in S1 Year 1 in any engineering degree, although that will be all. It gets harder after that. If...

Well first, check the authorized list of calculators by your uni. I would be surprised if any of them allows you to easily perform integrals.
