    Self teaching perms and coms

Perms and combs is like one of those topics where you get it or you don't You can self teach it and there are certain methods (e.g. The gap method) you can employ but it takes heaps of practice until you can fully grasp it Questions are often ambiguously worded as well :/ Good luck :)

    General thoughts: HSC chemistry 2015

Don't worry man I'm sure you did fine :) Just put it behind you (You never have to do chem again :P ) and go all out for the remaining exams, we're almost there :)

Same + Did anyone else find the Solvay flow chart a bit dodgy I find that ammonia recovery coming last seems more natural rather than having it before sodium carbonate formation

HFC's since they don't contain chlorine or bromine (halons) and thus a zero ozone depleting potential Funfact: They contribute to greenhouse gases though

But by checking from the same source multiple times you can determine whether there is a consistency in results + for it to be reliable it can be performed by other people but UNDER THE SAME CONDITIONS AND THE SAME LOCATION - Think about the measuring the value of G prac in physics; the value...

    HSC Physics Marathon 2013-2015 Archive

re: HSC Physics Marathon Archive I think markers like to see a mention of the "standing wave", "nodes" and "anti-nodes" to determine the wavelength AND with the known frequency and using the wave equation (v = f (lambda) ) he could calculate the speed of radio waves which of course closely...

For the indicator question did you guys use the red cabbage one? + How are they going to allocate marks to the two marker below that?

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive LOL Oh you're talking about the general sig fig rules? You only begin counting sig figs after the zero's so it's 1 sig fig in the first thing For the second thing the .00 tells us something interesting after the 1 so it's 3 sig figs

    HSC 2012-2015 Chemistry Marathon (archive)

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive I brought it up with Fizzy at one point in time You round your answer off to the lowest amount of significant figures in the question (e.g. There's 90 kg, 555 N so you choose the number of sig figs in the 90 kg) BUT that value actually has to be used in the...

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive With what I mentioned to Kaido you need to know how ozone depletion is naturally stopped - There is a build up of compounds (these compounds are formed with the natural reactions that prevent ozone depletion) originating from stratospheric methane and...
