    General Thoughts: Chemistry

Um I think the question specifically asked for the purity of the dry ice :L I'm not sure if that answer would lose marks since it's technically right..

I also wrote that lol, but I think as long as you don't excessively write the number of decimal places, they wont mark you down usually..I hope.. Is it still possible for me to obtain 90+ in chem guys? School rank: top 20 Total average rank: 50s/108 I think with a mark of 78 ish compared to...

    Predictions for Chemistry 2014 HSC?

You can get oxygen, but at a much higher voltage due to the difficulty of interaction between the water molecules and the anode, in terms of industrial, due to the high amounts of electrical used, you can definitely get a mixture of both. But in terms of the school lab, it's chlorine gas.

    Predictions for Chemistry 2014 HSC?

Copper metal is pink I believe and the ions are blue. Q2. In a galvanic cell where copper is the cathode, the blue colour solution of the copper sulfate fades slowly due to the copper ions being reduced to become copper metal. When the copper cathode has an excess of electrons, produced by the...

    Predictions for Chemistry 2014 HSC?

Another one of these "broad" questions, hate them as it is hard to guess the marking criteria for them. Ethene is an alkene mainly obtain from the cracking of petrochemicals in which it can undergo different chemical reactions to create products for different applications. Ethene can...

    Predictions for Chemistry 2014 HSC?

Similarities: - Both processes require energy in order to crack the hydrocarbon into smaller chains. -Ethene is formed as a result of large hydrocarbon chains are cracked. Differences: - Thermal cracking of hydrocarbons result in free radical hydrocarbons, which are cracked to obtain ethene...
