    2024 HSC Chat

Yup! Essentially (I'm pretty sure) how it works for internals if your final mark is determined by your overall ranking - it's not just your marks. Say you come third, then you get whatever the third highest overall percentage is... It's a bit confusing but it works out in the end.

I mean they matter as much as the weighting says I guess lol. But yeah, you really want to make sure your rank is high (so essentially get good marks but yk...) It will matter a bit. I can't sugarcoat that. But if you failed your first one, you can absolutely pick yourself back up and do well...

    2024 HSC Chat

I did tutoring in years 9 and 10 for maths (5.3), but now I'm dropping down to Standard 2 maths so I'll have no tutoring. I was a bit embarrassed to be getting tutoring at first so I didn't tell many people, but I've never intentionally hidden it (and I think it's kinda stupid to hide it also -...

    2024 PROGRESS LOGBOOK

Agreed! I always have a really hard time finding people doing the same stuff as me (and it makes finding notes more annoying as well haha). But yeah, my teacher has always been super passionate about Persia and is really interested in Middle Eastern history so it should be really good.

That really sucks, but don't get too worked up about it! It's hard to sustain that momentum throughout the whole year, and if he's only suddenly doing well then it's likely he won't be able to keep it up. With that being said, as easy as it is for me to say, the best thing to do is to not...

Am I better off dropping down to Standard Maths?

(Also yes I know this discussion is pretty old but it keeps coming up on my recent conversations whatever whatever page and I keep getting frustrated by it so I thought I'd finally write something lol)

Am I better off dropping down to Standard Maths?

Hi everyone, I'm coming into the conversation quite late but this is getting all very complex so I'm going to ignore and not comment on all previous advice and simply give my opinion and story. I did 5.3 maths all the way through Years 9 and 10, and my results were quite mixed. However one...

is it worth dropping any of these subject?

Personally I think 14 units is overdoing it and an unjustifiable amount. From what you've got here it seems like math extension one is your worst subject, and extension subjects are very time consuming for being only one unit. That being said if your ATAR is very important to you and/or you...

    Music 2 HSC Help :(

The way I see it, if you stick with this teacher you should do physics. Easily. This teacher is making you stressed, taking time away from your other subjects, and thus you are not enjoying doing music 2. However, if you can find another teacher, music 2 might be better in your interests...

    Tips for productivity & wellbeing

In terms of things that I find good for my productivity and wellbeing... Find an app or focus timer or some tracker you actually care about your stats on to motivate you to study just that little bit more I've found having an ATAR goal kind of unrewarding as most of the courses I want to get...
