Re: Massive terrorist attacks in Norway, over 30+ dead
that is fucked up
i thought nothing could go worse than the port arthur or virginia tech massacre
its called tertiary or gap year applicant :) quite a few get in who've attempted UMAT more than once
note: monash, UQ, griffith, UADE (unless ur studying one of its undergrad courses) doesn't accept tertiary applicants
From the top of my head,
UMAT cut offs last year for interviews were:
UNCLE 91st percentile
Monash 93rd percentile
UWS varies for gws/non-gws -> 85 percentile sufficed if section 1 + 2 were high
UADE 91st percentile
UQ 89th percentile with section 1 score of 66
i.e. anything less than 85th...
For UNSW i'd say ATAR of 99.60 and UMAT 96th percentile is "average"
but there are non-rural meddies with UMAT in the low 80s or ATARs in the mid 96s (but not both <_<)
you put your uni course in order of preference :/
and be aware of early deadlines for courses that require things other than ATAR e.g. auditions, STAT etc..
Um in a nutshell
you get your umat results late september
first round interviews (late Nov) based on predicted ATAR and actual UMAT results
second round interviews for those whose actual ATAR was higher than predicted
interstate interviews in jan
If you decline your first offer in the main round (late jan) you will have to wait for 2nd round offers (early feb) and hope that your lower preference course has places still available
Choose carefully.
