the ATAR for LaTrobe in bendigo for a bach of arts is 50.65 (the lowest i know of) tafe and transfer baby. go to tafe for 6-12 months (e.g. enrolled nursing) transfer into a uni (registered nursing) and if that doesn't suit transfer from nursing to another course. done! It will be a more...

Any rural students on here that have opinion on how they'll go?

haha opps, that's a little more reasonable but still a fair haul. i travel about 40 mins a day, any more than that would drive me nuts!

What did everyone put as there preferences ?

some uni's don't make it a necessity, but it wouldn't hurt to stroke their ego by putting it first anyway. i've played the system both ways but applying through UAC and VTAC so i can have 2 uni's as first preference.

Any rural students on here that have opinion on how they'll go?

holy shit! good on you. 3 hours to school each day? talk about dedication! you deserve that, good luck! i'm from a town of 600 in a farming community that doesn't value education. My class had 9 students, out of those maybe 3 have picked up a pen. My school is a focus school, mainly...

    "N Award" bullcrap.

i dunno dude, i personally think you should take a bit of responsibility for this. It's not your teachers' fault you didn't meet the minimum requirments. If you wanna appeal, you should really act mature about it and accept that you've made a poor decision but you'd appreciate another chance...

Confused about this whole leaving early thing.

No, there will be no harm in leaving early (half my class did it for every test; could hardly write their name on the page) but do your best anyway. If you finish with time to spare, then leave. You might as well spend another hour of your life on the subject on the off chance you stuff up...

    Walking out of the exam?

after the first hour (or half hour?) and not in the last 15 minutes. They should read out the rules for it before you start. Half my class left early for all of last year's exams (studious little darlings they are). Use as much time as you need, don't hold yourself to walking out, do what you...

Did tutoring help you with school work?

i did tutoring in standard English last year from Kip Mcgraph. I thought it was good. my marks were still pretty average (72%) but considering i had little idea how to write an essay when i went in there and couldn't/still can't spell, it did amazing things. i think the kids that get average...

    Eating coffee beans

ew! dude, that is NOT the way to go about a caffeine hit. can of coke = 30mg chocolate bar = 50mg teaspoon of instant coffee = 60mg red bull = 80mg no doz = 100mg filtered coffee = 100mg most other energy drinks = c.170mg (changes with brand) lethal dose = 10 grams. i use no-doz and...

For Those Who Are Not Yet Motivated:

i actually wondered if i could buy vials of virus during last years HSC exams (did half then, doing half now). When you're stressed enough shit like that seemes like a perfectly reasonable idea. It wouldn't have helped me at all in hind sight, my assessment and HSC marks were within 2% of...

    motivation come back to me!!

same! As you can see i'm procrastinating because i'm on BOS rather than doing anything else imaginable. i even went to school, sat myself in the library, brought all my stuff, got ready to go, downed a caffeine pill annnnnnd... promply sat on the nearest computer and bitched to the interwebs...

Too late to drop a subject?

if you've got 12 units, and only the highest 10 are counted towards your ATAR. The subject you do worst in won't be counted (hallelujah!) you could: ~ do your best, suck up the results (as i am doing with distance ed ancient history) ~ go, write your name, maybe doodle on the page then...
