Have you read the unit outline or guides however you want to call them? They normally have an outline of everything you will be doing that semester + readings or any recommended texts. For my units I've been given spectific h/w and for law there are set out readings before each tute/lecture.

There aren't many cases- just treaties, UN conventions and Acts.

I think it really depends on the uniform. I went to both public and private schools. When I was in a public school every shop assistant gave me shifty looks as if I was going to steal something. Private school was a whole different story though- I went to Kambala so I mainly shopped at Bondi...
