105/120,
Top mark was 117, second was 116. I think i slot in about 4th or 5th. All the top marks were 3u kids.

Im happy, hopefully this equates to a band 6, then ill b cheering :D
3U on the other hand, grrr, not 2 well

I'll be lucky if i pass...
I hate maths so much!
Its the subject I struggle the most at

We've just started applications of calculus to the physical world and thats made me hae maths with a passion even more.

hold on...at your schools do you get ranked against the mathematics students if you only do mathematics...and the ext 1 students get ranked seperately? Or are you all combined?

best ive heard is 96% from a 15year old 3uniter... grrr

"so who has done brilliantly and doesnt do 3u?"

well, i dont do 3u, but it depends on what your definition of brilliant is? I guess i didn't really go brilliantly, but im happy, and i rarely am about marks.

in the actual hsc 3 unit people do the 2 unit paper so they will be part of the rank for the 2 unit results across the state

i used to do 3 unit but then i dropped it (yay:) ) I got 95% in the exam. i didnt think the exam was bad, mainly coz they didnt ask the stuff im crappest at... lol

Im in year 11 and got 90% which was fairly good.

I dont know why people were saying that it was such a hard trial, it was the easiest trial i've ever seen

You have heard it from Captain pi:
"Stupidest paper ever."

I would say the Band 5/6 cut-off, for this exam, was 115/120 – there were few Band 6 questions in reality.

I am not joking; this was one simple paper. But don't stress if you got below this mark and were hoping for a Band 6: the HSC exam will reward stronger and cleverer minds and will not be as petty as this one.

Indeed...the 2U CSSA Maths papers are quickly losing their reputation as the most difficult of the lot. The HSC will be much harder, and will require some better reasoning skills.

The very last question on this paper, for example, the one with the parabola, was at best the standard of an 8 (c) or 9 (a) on a typical HSC paper.
