can som1 explain to me why the answer is not C?
They should be the same, because he observed the life in his own frame of reference

Unless of course, im misunderstanding the question (or im stupid heyeyeyey)

no; that's it's life time when it is travelling at that speed. it should me less when it is in a stationary frame

answer should be either A or B. I am going to guess A

it says he observes its life to be as ----
Doesnt that mean, the particle itself would have a shorter life?
Im just confused as fuck dude

yes he observes it when it is travelling at 0.9999c

the scientist is stationary (because he is in the lab) [unless the scientist is also flying at 0.9999c which doesn't make sense]

The answer is A. The faster you travel, the longer you live for, hence when stationary your life is shorter.

yeah but either way, the particle sees it as having a shorter life, but shouldnt the scientist observe the time as being normal..?

It says he examines the life to be --- when it is traveling at that --

Doesnt say he examines it travelling at --- and the particles life is -- as a result

Like im thinking about it like this- ur friend goes on a spaceship for 20 years, they see it as 5 -
If they dont move - you still see it as 20

AM i wrong here? or is this different

you're over analyzing the question. It is q3 of multiple choice; you should spend no more than a minute on it

if YOU go on a spaceship for 20 years at 0.999c then your friends on earth will see for much longer
