Just a warning: the vast majority of people doing plays will do absurdist plays. Most of those people will receive low marks. Absurdism is not an excuse to have random shit in your play -- if you make it absurdist, be prepared to do a lot of research on the movement. To see an example of absurdism done well in extension 2, read The Third Umpire from the Young Writer's Showcase 2006. That's an absurdist play which I believe came top in the state. It's phenomenal.
When absurdism is done well, it can be brilliant, but when it's not done well, it's truly terrible.
The same goes for short stories/critical responses and postmodernism.
