I don't understand how this school ranking stuff works and how it effects your atar. My school ranked top 40 last year and my cohort is extremely smart. Like how much difference could that make?
if ur mid of the pack, a lot.

but like how does it work, so if I get a raw 90 in eco, business and math standard 2 (IN HSC EXAM), and my internals r like 70-80, I can get a 90 atar?
so when u complete your hsc you get a RAW mark. this is the exact mark u get in the exam. then, depending on your school, it will get either pulled up or down. if u go to a very good school and do poorly in your hsc, your mark will be pulled up significantly, but the higher your raw mark, the less effect this will have. then this SCALED mark will be averaged with your adjusted internals mark (this is the trials, mid-years and everything in between) to get your final score to be judged for the ATAR. im pretty sure this is how it works

so looking at my scenario do u think a 85 atar is possible considering this?

If someone state ranks a subject does that impact the cohorts scaling at all
I'm not 100% sure but one of my teachers said that school rankings does not really affect ur atar or hsc mark directly. I'm not sure about state rank cause isn't it the performance of ur class boosts all?

oh yeah i'm cooked if they ask for any legislation. studying for groups has been rough 😭 my flashcards for that module is like triple the size of all the others
i'm so mad they made rural/remote a category a group. there's like NOTHING out there in terms of resources
