honestly they've been predicting credit for like the past 5 yrs but nothing, still worth going over.
also im not sure if uve already been told but plsss define as much as u can. literally define what a consumer is, whats a business, what is credit, whats debt, these marks are easy marks!! this goes in ur intro. if u get a question abt changing values and ethics - NAME THESE VALUES AND STICK WITH THEM, SAY HOW THEYVE EVOLVED AND WHAT CAUSED THEM TO PLEASEEEEE 🙏🙏🙏
id list a minimum of 3, this can serve as part of ur criteria. say one issue addresses 2/3 values, its somewhat effective. u got this!!

yeah I think theres a big possibility that credit is coming up tomorrow or soon. I'm kinda hoping it is one of the questions cuz its my best contemporary issue. thank you so much for that tip about defining terms! will definitely be doing that tomorrow

DO U HAVE ANY OTHER TIPS FOR THE 25 MARKER ESSAYS
Be as cohesive as possible with your argument! Say things that distinguish u from the rest. Eg: u say something is somewhat effective, u need to also say “had (whatever topic or court or agency) implemented this specific strategy (name what is it, like whatever consumer marketing strategy etc etc) then it would have been fully effective in (state the criterion). Due to its shortfalls it is thus deemed ineffective (according to the question)”.Ur intro is what determines everything in the 25 markers tbh, if ur intro doesn’t define the terms, the scope, what the criteria is, the values and ethics, u immediately drop to the lower bands.

If you don’t include an international link at least once in ur entire essay u are immediately barred from achieving the top band mark. This can be just listing a human right, international agencies that have had a say in the matter etc.

Also don’t undermine the conclusion, if u fudged up ur entire essay but don’t know what to do then a good conclusion could bump u up a mark or two.
If u want I can try to post my intro and conc?

thanks do u have an intro for crime example?
similar format with defining but it depends if the q asks abt ctp or cjs or whatever.
if it was ctp id say something like:

**1st sentence = to what extent statement/answer question directly.
  • due to its increased focus on judicial discretion and the rights of the alleged offender rather than on equitable and fair measures and a reflection of society’s demands, the criminal trial process is only somewhat effective in achieving justice and balancing the rights of victims, offenders and society.
  • While the trial system attempts to ____, legislative changes and pre-existing ambiguity have withheld it from achieving justice and reflecting on the ethical standards of society in the areas of (ur two or three main topics ur gonna talk abt in the essay).
  • A crime is defined as an act or omission committed against the community that is punishable by the state for the aims of retribution, deterrence and rehabilitation.
  • Australia's criminal trial process is built on an adversarial legislative framework (expand on this).
  • state what your criterions are.
  • conclusive statement... wherein justice is only accomplished when all criteria of effectiveness are achieved in the criminal trial process.

btw if ur finding that ur taking more than 5 mins on ur intro, just move on.

don't memorise an essay! try to memorise key concepts under each crime topic. in ur exam, spending just 3 mins making a mind map of which topics u want to talk about and what cases/lcmid u wanna include can change everything, no point including a lot of info without organisation.

i grouped my revision notes under nature of crime, investigation process, trial, sentencing, and youth. then i used my cases across all of these topics! like children's court example can fit in trial, sentencing and youth. choose what u want to use don't just memorise everything <33

if a question is on CJS, you have to branch out. one para on trial, one on sentencing and if u have time for a third then one on investigation. if u answer a cjs question with just content on sentencing process, ur immediately barred from the top band
